Why no Date of packaging label on seeds?

There is a kind of expire date on most things.... I see this very relevant when it come to seeds ( you see date label on most other seeds)

The seedmakers should date label their products so then you would know if your seed order comes from the back of an old dusty shelve or rack.

Ace put a date on theirs too. Both they and Tony above are completely reputable breeders.

I have in my 14 years growing in 4 stages hydro never seen any date label on cannabis seeds.
Maybe from a private grower or private seedbanks (mostly only a year date) but never from any of the big brands.

They should... so sad that in most cases you have to guess by the condition of packaging and the percentage of dud seeds.

At the prices these seeds go for really really should be a label....it should be the rule and a standard.

Even my 50cent a package ordinary garden seeds has a date on it.....how hard can it be....they allready package them nicely and wrap them up in colors and plasticwrap...so where is the date label?

(we all know seed business is much more lucrative than the buds themselves... if you know how to sell them)

if not for the growers ....
Then for the growshop owners.

Could maybe have saved me some hastle with the OG kush in my room.
got the seeds in many small packages of 5..... The OG kush 2016 is not the exactly the "same" as in ex. 2013. older was less fertalizer hungry...less yield, did not react well to my treatment.

they are now mixed up in a f..... up situation... with date label I would have had a chance to put those red stems by them selves

Yep, we do. Seed Gathering Date: 04/15/16....and the like. Been doing that for 2 years.

Top Dawg dates theirs as well.

& I agree, seeds should be dated when they were harvested.

A date would work two fold in that sellers could visibly see how old their stock was & growers could choose to germ their old seeds before they become unviable.

Sweet seeds put dates on their packaging. Yes I agree they all should be with expiry dates too, that way the stockists can keep the supplies fresh.
I'm convinced alot of the dud seeds I've had are from being top old and not stored correctly. I see vendors have their seed stock in display cabinets on show all year round, subject to temperature and humidity fluctuations. Which can't be good for the seeds viability.
Peace
