Spydr X Plus (~660 watts) or D.I.Y Cree CXB3950 ~660 watts
Hey there I was planing to get some Spydr 1200 but BML changed to Fluence with their new Spydr x plus for $1,500.
I saw some diy Cree crob builds cxb3950 which on paper can be built to 50-60% efficiency. My question is if the new Spydr x plus is about 660-685watts and have a DIY Cree cob build cxb3950 around 660-685watts, put them against side by side which one will have a better efficiency with yield and quality, Spydr x plus or Cree cxb3950? Would it be more expensive + problems to go with DIY Cree cob or logical to go with Spydr x plus? Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks! |

10-12 cxb3590s will have a much higher efficiency so much more light for the same watts
if u can tunr that into higher yeild depends on ur skill, 2g per watt is the new benchmark with these kinds of systems, 1.5g per watt is average u can just pick up the cutter kit and no need to hunt for parts 500w https://www.cutter.com.au/proddetail.php?prod=cut2994 400w https://www.cutter.com.au/proddetail.php?prod=cut2903 250w https://www.cutter.com.au/proddetail.php?prod=cut2993 use code CUTANDROLL for a discount so for 1420 USD you can have 750w of 57% efficient light including shipping compared to the spyderxplus... spydr=900ppfd in a 4x4 cree=1390ppfd in a 4x4 if u only take the 500w kit then you would have the same ppfd as spydr-900 so 940 usd/500w cree= same amount of light as 1500usd/660w spydr

I subscribe to 3 different grow sites, never saw ONE personal use grower bragging about 1.5-2gpw. Some strains produce more bud than others, but far from highest quality, which after all is what its about.
I have a BML SPYDR 600 which combines NW/CW/WW + 450 and 630, and several Amare Technologies hybrid lights, which combine CoBs with a ring of monos to enhance veg and flower spectrums. He was the first to do this, others are now following

That obviously depends on the kit. Rule of thumb is that you want somewhere between 35-50W of LED per square foot. Quick multiplication would put you at 560-800W. Cheers!
