I first started seeing the Johnny D early 2000-02ish but I haven't seen it around in a hot minute. It was the top shelf in Hilo at the time, I don't think it was something that came out of puna...more of a hilo/hamakua strain

A lot of Hilo locals will know the name if you bring it up, but I've only talked to maybe 3 active growers that remember the strain from that time period. Only one of them actually mentioned the name of the family that i remember used to source it and actually said he was related to them. According to him the strain is gone and I think he mentioned it being very difficult to pollinate.

A month ago I got 3 unlabelled cuts from someone else and one of them is supposed to be Johnny D. Only problem is the person I got it from said his source referred to it as the chocolate or elephant and I have never heard it mentioned as such.

Someone gave me a cut recently that is supposedly a pure, we will find out here in a couple months but I dont think it is. JDs is mostly around in xs now, like Tahoe and BB. If it was still around pure the Hilo boys would still have it, it wouldnt be anywhere but Eastside and it isnt.

Reportedly they all came from the family on Maui that has been tweaking the ingredients over the years...but its hard to say. It is a pretty common strain here.

I won't mention the family that originated it also , but he is well known ... , but a close friend is is related to them by marriage , how I got it .... story I was told is it was brought to islands in 1969 , Cambodian thai , person who brought it over didn't want his name attached to it , so Jdimilo got it and has had that name for quite a while among many others I'm sure ...and has been crossed with a unknown tahoe male and a blu b from I was told also, . in 1979 stash magazine had a hawaiian article in it that mentions the 10th generation Cambodian thai that was chocolate in color and sometimes was called elephant ... was mega strong ... i showed rob clarke a nugg and his words were "classic hawaiian from how I remember it in the old days" golden brown with little dark green leaves , it has a musky slight spice flavor and mega strong cuts right thru a dab like nothing , does have really broad leaves during veg but thin up quite a bit during flower , looks kinda indica but really long flower time 10 12 weeks at least ......

The only thing skva and sk dog have in common is they are both cannabis plants...they share not one single expression...
Neither of the cuts of Maui Dog are chem d...though I've heard the fake Maui Dog is a "chem" bagseed...

Anyone heard of Ohana seeds? They go by Pua Mana Pakalolo seeds also but it says Ohana on the packs. If you have any personal knowledge of this company I'm interested. Thanks!

I wouln't buy from this company, followed this person on a few other forums. He or she makes extreme marketing, and if you show a hint of scepsis they will attack you. He or she was already banned on a few forums! And the prices they have showing what character is behind this company. The best part is, the company is pretty new and already wants this high prices? And in each sentence he or she is speaking how wonderfull hawaii is, i know Hawaii is maybe the most beatiful place on earth, but must he or she mention it in every sentence?! So im very sceptical about this company!
