Or just making the leap to aquarium flouros for the perfect nm waves.
hey gmt,,,,
i have been using them for many years and just recently i have decided to "mix" things up a little,,,,,in bloom i now use 2 dual sunmasters 600w and 2 sylvania sodiums,,,,
all those years ago i stopped using metal halides for veg and sodiums for bloom and started using the duals purely for convenience but those lamps were very expensive back then and made claims about there power but i question if the duals were ever as good as the metal h/sodium combo for veg and bloom and am considering going back to my original set-up and makes your post very timely
i havent noticed how hot the bulbs run but i have always had oversized exhausts but it wouldnt suprize me if they did run warmer,,,,,
i use a 300 cfl for cuts and seedlings,,,,
i dont see how fluorecents could match a son-t or two in bloom gmt but it would be much cooler ,,,,
thanks for popping in old mate,,,
peace and regards s2

Lovely thread, glad I found it s2!
It is always a bit of a challenge dailing in new cultivars, looking great though.
All the best,

some pics with lamps on,,
week 8 tommorow,,,,
gonna be end of week 10 for harvesting for most of them,a few might go a tad longer,,,
getting very, very smelly in there,,will start swelling more quickly now,,,,,plenty of air movement and good humidity to keep any mold at bay,,
its around this time that my wife starts sneezing and eyes watering from the stink ,,good rule of thumb that things are ok,,
stinky and ugly,,
