Inoculating new cuttings

Just wondering what people use to treat or inoculate new cutting they receive against parasites and pathogens?

I received some snips yesterday, got paranoid they may have thrip, so treated them with a product that I have used to cure thrip previously on mature plants. But on these new cuttings it killed them, dead! Flat as a pancake.

But I'd rather miss out on a strain (even if I was paranoid) than pick up a parasite.

What do other people use? Thought I'd ask in the UK forum so I don't get people recommending me American products.

Dip or spray with a h2o2 solution, I usually aim for about 1%.

Thanks, that seems totally do-able.

I never realised do-able isn't a real word until I tried to write it. Doable, is that right?

I'm a little confused by the math, so if my h2o2 is 17% how would I work out what amount of water to dilute it with to make a 1% solution?

Would that kill pests and eggs?

about 5-6 parts water to one part 17.5 h2o2...fully dip if possible then rinse dip in water after a couple of mins. Or do half that strength spray and leave on.

Would a liquid O2 dip do for broad mite?

Pathogens and toxins need to be cloned past, i guess.

I fancy eagle 20 too. What about a long term solution with og bio war?

.

Not sure Rick, strong enough and quick enough(rinse though) it seems to blast anything pretty much. Not had broad mites as far as I know...Seen some Fookin' Huge ones in my time though. Got rid of plenty bugs with strong ISO alcohol in water spray too as it evaporates before killing plant if used correctly.

that sounds good too.

Any idea of how much to dilute the iso?

I thought sythane fungus fighter was similar to e20? But think the chemical has changed in that product now, and it's just called fungus fighter. I have cured a case of PM a while back with the original product.

I am looking into OG biowar, even if just to have it in the remedy cabinet. But seems hard to get in this country, only seen it on eBay from the U.S.

What do you reckon to these?

1 part iso to 3/4 parts water. You can use a cotton swab or spray. I spray then spray again with water to rinse after a few hrs but maybe not necessary-or use half that srtrength with insecticidal soap and/or Canola oil and dip and dip to clean after24 hrs. Seaweed helps with resistance.
