Legalization in CA is only about tax revenue and Sacramento wanting the final say on regulation. Anyone can get a med card, and cannabis consumption is regarded as a normal part of life, in the urban areas at least. It all boils down to the state legislature trying to corral all the little fiefdoms of medville across the state, which all have their own varying laws regarding dispensaries, etc. My .02 from my time spent there.

No, the taxes are not the value here.

a license to produce, transport, process, and retail are the value.

the most expensive consumable ever, the political cronies who score the licenses are the new plutocracy.

the cops who protect the racket will see a bump also no doubt.

This talk about lower quality, higher prices due to legalization is not true. We actually get better quality due to regulations on safety and handling and lower prices as competition increases. Add to that the ability to grow your own and not get thrown in jail. What's there to debate?

Unless Californian's are making changes to their Constitution that favor the individual over the corporation, Californians are taking one for the nation...

Fucking idiot politicians just want to line their pockets. They care not about the people they represent!

It doesn't protect your job. What's the point of being legal if they are still going to drug test. Hope this fails! Medical has been good to me don't see why it needs to change. This is for big Corp/ gov. Not for the people

What will it cost to score a license?

my question is are they going to exclude those who have had marijuana related felonies just as every other state has.

We have reciprocal trade agreements with Mexico and other Latin nations. Mexico just went legal because their drug trade will fall off with the illegal stuff. How do you hope to compete with Mexico's labor which is $3 per day?? The Narco Gangs down there enslave people to work on farms. Mexico will send us tons and tons of the best stuff from top notch seeds and growers who will move down for the good jobs and to stop competition they'll send people like "El Chapo" to talk to you. You really think the Ohio killing was an outlier, its what they do. 80,000 murdered in the Mexican Drug Wars. Chicago is now the main distribution point for Herion supplied by the Siniloa Cartel and has made Obama's gun free Chicago the #1 Murder Town in the USofA. heyjackass.com, the murder stats.
