It makes me smile to read this, Snook.

I made it over the weekend as well. Just over thirteen hours. I was thinking about how long I’ve had this recipe... at least twenty but closer to twenty-five years. About ten years ago I replaced my smaller older crockpot. I noticed a difference in the cook down time with the new one. It has a hole in the top for a thermometer... so there’s a hole in the lid that says ‘insert probe’ that allows for liquid to cook off quicker. Plus, it does a better job of smelling up the house venting out that hole than my old one with the solid lid.. Anyway, yeah, it takes a few times to get that part dialed in.

It’s also worth trying different types of roasts. This weekend I made it with the sirloin tip roast the recipe calls for. But I think I prefer a straight up pot roast. It’s a fattier roast, but I like the flavor and texture better.

Gonna have to give bigbadbiddy’s version a whirl soon...

hmmmm, has anyone's plate caught Gypsy's attention yet?
mruhahahaha!
maybe this will.
tynehead tom's stoner dessert sandwich

dempsters ancient grains bread, both sides hit with a pile of hazelnut and coco goodness called Nutella , sliced fresh strawberries and a 1/2 a sliced banana. Little bit of dessert mayo in the middle being the cool whip whipping cream.
on the side, the tasty beverage is a French pressed cup of nabob , with a generous helping of Godiva white chocolate liquer in lieu of creamer
enjoy !!

My Queen and I strapped on the feed Bag for this indulgence....Not a lot of Eye contact or chit chat going on just Chowing down.
I took a chip/frie off her plate and I think she growled.
