And to whoever mentioned cooking a meal when having the munchies, well that's half the fun. I try to make the most delicious meal, and the wait/prep is well worth it!

Cheers!!!
I have 40lbs of chicken marinating for the wood grill, I can't wait. A few friends and some cold beers around the fire. Yeehaw! (Sorry Trout, that was yeehaw worthy lol)
I love when that kinda of shit happens.funny thing is we have chicken marinading too.Not 40lbs worth.
I agree about making food. It is a thing of passion and necessity for me.
a 100 year old cherry tree with room and lots of food. That sounds like a sweet spot.
Living a good life my friend.

I’ve yet to share that recipe with anyone who didn’t enjoy it. I like zippy/spicy foods so I go with the Zesty, over the regular Italian Dressing. Forgot to mention that. And I usually like seasoned curly fries on the side.

Seriously. I agree. I’ve found that this is definitely the key to it... it’s usually closer to a twelve hour cook than eight (with my crockpot) by the time it’s cooked in and there’s no liquid.

Yeah, nice entry. It’s been awhile. I’m going to have to make up a batch soon. I’ve always wondered how it would be if I substituted jalapeños for the banana peppers, or maybe went half and half... but I’ve yet to be that brave because I know just how good it is, as is... would hate to ruin a batch.
We shall eat and smoke like vikings around the fire.I would love to talk food and grow with my Peers/Friends.
I just do not want to sit next to Coco.Hehe

It's been a little while since I've had the opportunity to smoke, but when I did I had two go-to favorites:

One Pot Pad Thai, courtesy of Tasty:

Or Hot Chocolate cookies. Essentially they were made like any other chocolate cookie but add a teaspoon or two of chili powder, cayenne, or any other powdered hot pepper. Depends on how spicy you want them, really.

Cool Cakes

I came up with this about 8 years ago. It's my version of strawberry shortcake.I disliked the soggyness of SSC.

Premake yellow cake and refrigerate.
Bananas, Home made whipped cream, cover with strawberries and blueberries.

Make to order. important

For anyone who likes the sound of bigbadbiddy’s pulled beef sandwich, here’s a variation of it that’s excellent and incredibly easy. It’s one of those recipes I’ve had for years and still make on a somewhat regular basis.

Italian Beef Hoagies:

1 boneless sirloin tip roast (about 4 pounds), halved
2 envelopes Italian salad dressing mix
2 cups water
1 jar (16 ounces) mild pepper rings, undrained
18 hoagie buns, split

Place roast in a 5-qt. slow cooker. Combine the salad dressing mix and water; pour over roast. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until meat is tender. Remove meat; shred with a fork and return to slow cooker. Add pepper rings; heat through. Spoon 1/2 cup meat mixture onto each bun. Yield: 18 servings.

I cut this recipe in half. I don’t have an army to feed. I also do not remove the meat to shred it. I do so right in the crockpot. After shredding the beef and adding the peppers I then cook it down until all liquid had been absorbed/cooked off. I serve on toasted hoagie buns with pepper jack cheese and shredded lettuce. This is so easy and sooo good! And it will make your house smell wonderful.

And yep, it’s even better as leftovers. Makes for excellent munchie food.
this was a hit a party over the weekend.. slow cooked it with cover on, maybe cover off next time.. 8 hours after shredding on high, (total 16 hours) much juice was still present but yes, that will surface again..
