UK - Lib Dems Framework For A Legal Cannabis Market
https://d3n8a8pro7vhmx.cloudfront.ne...pdf?1457398164
This slipped under my radar. I did search and found no posts so apologises if its been covered.. *In a nut shell, they propose a 4 plant limit for home growing. It is a good read and after the last petition was thrown out, over evidence dating back to a dodgy report from 2008 (the scientist who worked on it was sacked for his results, mdma and cannabis less harmful than alcohol and tobacco), its forward thinking for once. |

It's the lib dems so its all lies and fantasy. I would love something good to happen for cannabis in the u.k but i can't see it happening any time soon!

The Lib Dems have been the forerunners for legalisation for a long time. Unfortunately it's unlikely they'll ever be in power.
I was hoping the labour party might do a switch-a-roo and become a bit more forward thinking. This was from the last election.. https://www.tdpf.org.uk/sites/default...ction-2015.png One thing is for sure, the Conservative government aren't EVER going to even contemplate it. They're stuck in stupid backward thinking 'traditional' policy making.

If there was a coalition between the libs and labour then There's a fighting chance of decriminalisation but it looks highly unlikely. Most police commissioners have stated that under 9 plants and 1 tent, your unlikely to be sentenced to prison. Big slap on the wrist though..

I think we might find ourselves in basically a decriminalized situation before too long. Look at Durham for example. Police there have said as long as you're not taking the piss, they ain't knocking on your door. I think a lot of other counties have/will adopt a similar policy, just being less vocal in the media about it.
I can see things changing legally eventually. I think once the majority of the US has gone legal for both medical/rec use then we'll be forced to follow suit for fear of losing out on the global canna/hemp trade/dollar. |
