Cool TRH... therealhash... Afgooey X Kandahar

TRH...therealhash... Afgooey X Kandahar; summer run : green house ...

from LEAFly ...

Afgooey, also known as Afgoo, is a potent indica strain that is believed to descend from an Afghani indica and Maui Haze. Its sativa parent may lend Afgoo some uplifting, creative qualities, but this strain undoubtedly takes after its indica parent as it primarily delivers relaxing, sleepy effects alongside its earthy pine flavor. Growers hoping to cultivate Afgoo may have a better chance of success indoors, but this indica can also thrive in Mediterranean climates outdoors.

Kandahar, named after the homeland of its ancestor, is a 90% indica strain bred by the Ministry of Cannabis. Its Afghani parent, grown near the city of Kandahar, was crossed with an unknown Afghan Skunk hybrid to help lighten some of the indica intensity. The result is a powerful but functional strain that goes best with relaxing activities at home. Its aroma is a complex blend of earthy wood with nutty undertones that are only fully realized in Kandahar’s taste. Kandahar exhibits the typical indica stature: short, bushy plants with thick layers of crystal trichomes. Indoor gardens finish flowering between 8 and 9 weeks, while outdoor harvest falls at the beginning of October.

I'm interested to see what you think of these. I have some Afgooey x Silver Haze, that I got as freebies with another TRH order, going right now and they look pretty good. Seems like there are a lot of threads in the tester section that have a good start and then just peter out.

Wink pardon the delays...

life's a bitch w/ a 9 month pregnant wife... never enuff time in the day ...

lost all my seedling shots during a computer crash and replacment last month... oh well seedlings sux...

here is the complete krewe.... 10 young'en's... in a 50 gallon bin on wheels... 24 hr veg for 60+ days,.... full sun all day, and 1k MH all night...

males will be cut out....
girls will be tied down...

then will see what happens ...

these ... have been a breeze to grow, very sturdy afgani structure, w/ that afgooey stank... if the veg structure carries over into the bud development, and the aroma maintains that H00BAstank....
we very well may have a WINNNER on our hands...

as is one of the males is steller in shape form and fashion would be excellent breeding material... just NOT my thang....
I grow buds not beans... so males will get the knife... nomatter what

Wow

This is the first test run of this one.

They're looking great so far.

Those leaves seem to be showing Afgooey dominance.

UGH.....
only slightly pissed... only 3 confirmed ladies outta 11 beans... not a brilliant ratio...
certainly no reflection of the seeds... obviously much more of a environmental / conditions and impact...
which is just as obvious... w/ the 2/ outta 10 i got w/ Darlin's net...

so outta 21 seeds...
11 Afgoo x K
10 DN
I got 5 girlz... prayerz for a keeper sum-where...

as one would hope when dabbling w/ excellent genetics and seed stock...

Cannabis gender is controlled by an XY system of sexual determination, with the heterogametic sex (XY) being the staminate or male gender.

aridbud post up the results of your experiment, and the statistical methods you used to conform your results vs expected probabilities.

The rest is hearsay and is completely false.

I've grown many sets of seeds and used genetic markers to screen for the presence of the Y chromosome and it is %100 percent concordant with gender outcome.

You can alter gender expression with ethylene blockers or by spraying males with ethephon, you can pull crazy stresses on plants and make them show as intersex, but that effect is transient and does not alter the gender. Gender is determined by genetics, as stated previously, not by environment. This has been discussed ad nauseum over a series of internet fora, including this one so I'm not going to rehash it all here.
