2016 on the Chernozem - Jarilla de Sinaloa, Guatemala and Peyote Purple

Hi, people!

I'll use this thread as a diary for my outdoor grow this 2016 season. Anybody who has photos of the same strains, preferably grown outdoors, is more than welcome to share these photos here, so that we can compare the growing characteristics of different phenos.

I'm in the Balkans, at 44 degrees north, soil is fertile black - "chernozem" in our language, i.e. black earth, and so the title of the thread goes. Climate is semi-continental, semi-Mediterranean, season usually ends around the middle of November when the frosts come after a not very rainy autumn. Last year we had a soft autumn and the weather was fine until one week into December. Let's see what this year's weather will bring...

After not being able to order (problems with paying) on the Cannabiogen site, I was happy to see that Ace Seeds now offer Cannabiogen's menu on their site, and so I ordered from there.
I started my seeds indoors on the 15th of March, soaking for 6 hours and then directly to peat + worm castings + perlite at 27*C. All of them sprouted within 5 days.

The strains:

Jarilla de Sinaloa (Cannabiogen) - 5 standard seeds
Guatemala (Ace Seeds freebies) - 4 standard seeds, perhaps this is the same (shared) reproduction as what is sold by Cannabiogen
Peyote Purple (Cannabiogen) - 2 standard seeds

I'll wait for the first preflowers and select one plant from each strain to transplant outdoors in the end of April, 1 plant on my property and the other 2 - in the bushes nearby.

I'm a sativa fan and I need the Peyote Purple mostly for medical purposes for a family member. Last year I grew a Stardawg clone (a Chemdawg descendant) which is superb, both as flavor and high. I was actually a bit surprised to try such a nice indica (the best in the last 10 years) and understood what the Kush hype in the US is about The descriptions of Peyote Purple are similar to what I like in Stardawg, so I decided to give it a try.

-----------------------------------------------
UPDATED: The grow in short

Jarilla de Sinaloa - SUCCESS - J4 (female) transplanted outdoors on the 22nd of April, J3 (male) - on the 28th of April. J1, J2 and J5 gifted to friends. J5 hermies at a friend's place and is culled. J1 dies because of draught in guerilla. J2 harvested by friend around 20th of Oct. J4 harvested on 10th of Nov.
Guatemala - SUCCESS - - G4 - male preflowers, the rest - female. G2 transplanted outdoors on the 28th of April. G1 and G3 gifted to friends. G1 dies because of low light, G3 harvested around the 10th of Oct. G2 is harvested on the 11th of Oct.
Peyote Purple - FAIL - PP1 gifted to a friend, PP2 transplanted outdoors on the 22nd of April. PP1 is eaten by animals in guerilla. PP2 culled in August due to security reasons. But 3 cuttings from it survived and were grown by friends, so I tried it.

Guatemala
The Guatemala is P3 (as stated on Ace's web site) and the work done is clearly visible - they are quite uniform and compact, not a single deformity and they all look very perky and happy. The tallest one is as tall as the shortest Jarilla. Guatemala is more dark, with purple on the leaves' and main stem.

G2 is the tallest and with the strongest rubbed-stem smell. All of them have sweet citric smell.

Jarilla de Sinaloa
These are quite vigorous for not being hybrids. They were a few days slower in germinating but are the fastest to bring out new sets of leaves and are more developed than the Guatemala and Peyote.
Rubbed-stem smell is pleasant citric, more sweet on J1, more astringent on J5, weak on J2 and J4, and rich and pungent on J3.
The Jarilla leaves' and main stems are all green, so it doesn't look like a red-blooded strain. The stems (especially of J2 and J3) are thin and flexible, which I like as it reminds me of the flexible branches of Haze. Jarilla seems branchy - J3 and J5 have the most developed branches from all seedlings.
J2 is lime green, unfortunately with very weak rubbed-stem smell.
J3 is the tallest, festest developing and with the strongest rubbed-stem smell of all seedlings. It smells skunky/hash even without any rubbing. Hope this one is not a male.

Peyote Purple
Rubbed-stem smell is weak and somewhat fruity. So far, they smell much weaker than I expected - weaker than the Jarilla next to them and uncomparably weaker than the Stardawg from last year.
They are a bit light in color for being indica, and I guess they'll be happy to get more nitrogen than the worm castings offer, but on the other hand they are not starving either - their cotyledons are still dark green. I'll add a pinch of N fertilizer to next watering.
PP2 is the stretchier of the two.

I will watching this. I ran the Peyote before. Very sedating buzz, mid strength, soap? hairspray flavor, contemplative, bit of a low yield.https://www.icmag.com/ic/images/attach/jpg.gif

I am interested in the Guatemalan for sure. I have the Jarilla and will run indoors next time. I can not grow outdoors here in California, imagine that.

Thanks for the interest and wishes people!

Unfortunately, J3 turned out male. I so hoped it's female, I even transplanted it in a bigger pot several days ago. But now moved it back to a small cup and cut its top as I don't need it so big. It's a very nice plant (strong fresh citric smell, vigorous and sativa) and I'll try to flower it when my growing box is empty from the ganja, tomatoes and cucumbers seedlings, and collect and hopefully preserve some Jarilla pollen.
Here it is, before moved to a small cup and chopped in half:

Here are the rest of the Jarilla seedlings.
So far, J4 and J5 have both showed female preflowers and J4 is promoted to a candidate for the outdoor spot and transplanted to a bigger pot. It started less vigorously than the other Jarillas, but picked up speed and is showing a really nice sativa structure. It's also among the pale-green ones (together with J3 and J2); J1 and J5 are darker green, though it's hard to see on the photos now, after all plants were fed moderately with a nitrogen fertilizer.

J1, J2, J4 and J5 (in this order from left to right):

J2

J4
