Harvesting Parts of the plants

Hello peeps

I was wondering, It may look like my plants cant be harvested at once. Some of the flowers that are "far" away from the light have mutch more brown pestils than the flowers closer to the lamp.

My question is, can I harvest the plant in several settings ?

Yes, you definately can. Just cut off the mature buds and move the plant so the underdeveloped buds are in a closer line of sight to your light source.......

...... then you wait and maybe drop you light while you watch those unripe buds fatten and finish up.

I agree with muscldancr, certainly you can, ive harvested tops and let bottom buds go an extra few weeks several times... only thing I dont like that you typed is that teh pistils far from the light are brown??

They may be a lost cause, the times Ive done it they were just immature lower buds with white pistils, not already darkened, may have done that causa no light.

Having brown pistils doesn't mean that they are more mature than the upper buds...in fact, if you check the trichomes, they will probably be LESS mature. This is a common fallacy. If anything, you would want to harvest the top of the plants first and move the light down so that those lower buds can have a little more time to fatten up. Peace

no brown dont mean more mature it mean dead and lower buds can die off , mostly with people that grow with CFL i know in my micro grows anything past 1.5feet from light dies fan leafs and all .

Thats why its good to use a lot of CFLs positioned all around the plant at diffrent heights to evenly distribute the light.

And back to the topic, like theyve all said before me, yes, you can harvest the plant in stages.. this is very commonly done with big sativas as they can get quite tall.. just lop off the top and bring it closer to the light.. and repeat as time goes by.

it would be kinda nice to harvest some of the colas while its still a heady high then let the others go longer and get more of a couchlock stone out of them. i like haveing a good mix of bud so i can smoke whati feel like smoking.

Cool

Sorry for the old thread bump, but I beg to differ with the lower bud sites dying off from CFL's...I guess it you have it arranged correctly, it's not an issue///
