soft water fishing's coming up soon enough, and we love to troll the shallows (late night/early morning) under the full moons real slow for walleye, we slay 'em w/the exception of the slot limit.

when we're having luck & other anglers are out there we have to be quiet getting fish onboard & measured, plus we usually stick a knife through their brains so they don't flop around in the cooler, which would again attract other anglers onto our hotspot(s).

sneaky sneaky, we never use marker buoy's either or we'd expose our troll route, we catch fish because we know the lake, and we've paid out dues.

but even on the slowest nights of trolling our luck typically changes when we decide to 'smoke 'em out' w/a bowl or two. walleye love to hit our Rapala baits when we're buzzed.......

back in the early 60s it was such a thrill to visit dad's office in Manhattan, it was right across the street from the Empire State Building, dad knew several shop owners on the ground floor in the ESB and so we'd go visit them too, maybe buying some stuff from their shops.

But the most fun was when I could sneak into dads desk drawer and be able to peruse his Playboy magazines, I was always 'thrilled' by the pics, big surprise there huh???

Betty Page was often featured which might explain my obsession with her straight black hair & bangs look, I'm a sucker for babes with bangs.......

Dad passed w/o me being able to share the internet w/him, he passed away in Jan of '99, I was in NY working & he was back in MN @ a nursing home, an awesome nursing home.

I had slow dial up in NY & never bothered to connect to the net in MN in '97/'98, the cost of long distance dial up was enormous, the cost of using AOL 800 number for hookups was an expensive monthly fee as well.

Heck, I wish I were 20 yrs younger to take advantage of the interesting 'net hookups, but I'm too old n' tired to try any kind of dating, even platonic stuff these days; I don't feel like I've given up, just waiting for a turn in fortune (it's coming soon btw) to turn my current situation around. Need some fixing around the house, an upgrade on my car, maybe even a Frankenstein Harley trike. That would turn my head around for sure.

A good night away from the nursing home for dad would be a visit to a bar and then a trip to the local casino. One night I chucked dollar tokens into a progressive payout $1 machine for him; dad hit some various small payouts & then hit three 7's for $80.... I started tossing $3 in for each pull & boom!!! 4 or 5 pulls later dad hits three 7s again but for $240 because of the $3 bets.

I convinced dad that some food was in order and then we played some quarter machines on the way out, the sights & sounds of the bar and the casino was plenty of excitement for the old man. My budget for the night was depleted but we were walking/rolling away with maybe $300 in casino cash.

Dad was easy to please in those latter years, I'll never stop missing him; and just tonight I was rubbing my dogs belly while telling her how much dad would have adored her.......
