Sorry to hear that brother. Looks like a he was a kind friend. We lost our beagle last May and I still tear up when I think about her. Best wishes.

I've been there too dude. Sucks. But, all dogs go to heaven muh man. And it will get better for you too in time.

Thanks for the kind words folks. It really means a lot. I never knew losing a pet could be so devastating, but I am doing ok. My family and friends have been very supportive. Not to mention a little help from our favorite herb

Betterhaff- That's what people keep telling me. The bond between dog and man is just something special and unique. I agree.

Cosmic Giggle- I kept his name when I adopted him at 3 months. It was a total human name which made me laugh.

Dude, I just saw this and reading your post made me cry. I know what you're going through, and you have my sympathies.

Can't ever replace him, but in time you can love another.

Thanks. This was my first dog so I think it hit me especially hard. Today was much better but it was totally weird walking without him. I loved that I could trust him to be off leash and not run off.

I hope you can find some peace and solace while grieving GS, I've lost many dogs over the years, it never gets any easier. The joy of sharing your life with them far outweighs the sorrow of their departure. The best remedy of course is finding another fur baby and giving them the comfort of companionship that they need as well.
