Question Oaxacan sativa...anyone grew these babies?

Hi people,

I am growing some oaxacans rightnow, actualy finishing up cause it is day 75. Buds are small(scrog) and pretty snowed over with trichs, but week 5-6 into flowering, they start yellowing on the leaves which later become brittle and dry. I flushed them twice, added a little N (peter's 20-20-20) and problem went away, but stems turned greyish/light brown and hairs are almost all brown. Trichs however are all clear still. Some people say that I'd let them go untill 90 at least. Also I have kali mist at day 68 that has very few trichs still. Whats the deal with that baby? (km)

Thanking everyone in advance.

I wish I could help. I'm curiuos about this strain. I'd be anxious to see a smoke report. I might try some outside because of the long flowering time. Some of the Mexican stuff is good and does cure to a dark brown.

Keep up the good work and keep us posted!

I just started some 'Oxacan Sativa' along with some 'LifeSaver', ( and a few 'Who's yah Daddy' ) in order to have clones for outdoors in mid April.
Please keep us posted on your results.

peace

Hi people,

things are pritty much the same in my mexican garden, but I will keep you guys updated.

Captain Canibus, they are getting very brown. Is thats why shwag is dark brown(bricks)??? Most of it comes from mexico, so I guess those are the first cousins of oaxacan.

SlackerScrog, they should be ready in another three weeks, and I'll give full smoke report as soon as I am able to roll some mexican goodies into a "j".

Thanks for stoping by.

Smile

If the Oaxacan was from the freebies Gypsy was givin away, I grew some out. I loved the buzz, but they grew very little buds in 60 days flowering. (not as patient as you)
This weed was the very first joint I smoked after 16 months of not smoking. I put a big joint int he car to smoke on the way home from my last day on the job. Needless to say, I was very impressed.
I smoked the joint all by myself, and had the most strange Time space distortions. Felt like I was playing a video game as the road rolled out in front of me. Could not convince myself I had not taken a wrong turn somewhere! Everything looked strange to me. Could not judge my speed at all, it was a helluva first buzz! Been trying to recreate it again, (without the abstinance) ever since! Grew this out for a couple rounds, but I just didn't have the patience for it. It was damn good even at 60 days tho.

Smile something to look forward to...

Thanks for that info. Coopdog,

thats my kind of a trip!!! Makes me want to clip some of those greenish/bluish buds with brown fuzz all over them and...no I will wait till 90. And then I hope the road will roll in front of me too...the way you've described it. Thanks again Coopdog and be safe outthere.

thats all I need rightnow...

No, not mould, at least at the moment...Some dog hair maybe(will have to be picked off with a lupe and a pair of tweezers), but nothing as bad as mould. What I've meant is female hairs that are white in the begining of flowering and get brown as the plant ripens...- those. I dont know their proper name, so I will not even start guessing.

I figure that on day 77, even pure sativa as oaxacan, should have mostly brown hairs. You know...brown fuzz?...? Anyway, I have been thinking about them all night, I like pot like that. Everything I've harvested so far ( I didn't try skunk#1 yet) eather indicas or i/s mix. Nothing realy to get off the orbit. Don't get me wrong, I am very, very happy with my harvest and the stuff is good. I like a mellow head most of the time, but once in a while I just like to leave atmosphier and venture into the final frontier... not for long. Short magical mystery tour and back.

anasha:

I posted a thread for Gypsy under the SD forum for some historical info on Oxacan (speed weed). I heard here he's in Jamaca with the Rastas. We'll have to bug him about this when he gets back.

brittle leaves typically means yu didn't flush enough on a regular basis. I find that a good flush w/ something like Clearex every 10dys keeps the leaves nice and supple till finish. figured it's due to salt buildup in the leaves.

good luck
