forget of all that fancy stuff..what you need is to make some wormcastings and molasses tea and you are all set...........wormcastings has all the benefical bacteria your plant will need. the molasses will feed the bacteria and overpopulate your tea with them.....peace

That is the million dollar question...there are several answers. Most organic ammendments are microbially active - this means that they tag along with your organic amendments or fertilizers like guano's and meals and such. If you need an extra boots of micros a good place to start would be subculture, tarantula, and actinovate.
Plant success is a form of mycorrhizal fungi...fungus would still be considered a "micro organism" but it is different than what we are talking about.

A good quality organic soil that is ammended with both subculture and plant success will have all the 'micros' that you need to have a healthy root zone.

I use the subculture and plant success...ALL THE TIME. No exceptions. I sometimes will mix up teas, but it depends on if I have time or not. Remember, plant success really doesn't belong in this conversation, other than it lives in the rootzone too. When I make up tea's, it is because I want nutritiion, the micro's are a benefit. I don't make tea's just for the micro's. I have been changing it up, trying different organic lines and natural guano's...they all work good, some work better than others.

Mixing and brewing organic teas are a pain in the ass!! It is a never ending, shit smelling foulness that I would love to avoid if at all possilbe! I am going to work on coming up with a dry organic schedule that works for me. I would like to get where I am adding nothing but water and the occasional addative... like molasses, LK and EJ's catalyst.

I don't want to answer for anyone, but worm castings and molasses would be an excellent source of micro-goodies. Not a source of major nutrition however. Let's not confuse micro's and roles that they play, with major nutrition. They should co-exist.

If you can find subculture...I would go with that. If you cannot, a worm casting tea with molasses would be an excellent substitute.

dwtc - if you are truly wanting to add micro-organisms to your soil, then i can't think of a better place to start than https://www.planthealthcare.com/ they have quite a selection of fungi and beneficial bacteria and are available in many locations. I have personally used their "Compete" and would recommend it to anyone who is not using mushroom compost or at least some kind of organic soil based amendment like compost tea or worm castings.
really take a look at that link, as a matter of fact anyone growing organically should check it out. you won't regret it

Just a quick addition to my last post, I have just started using a type of pro-mix that has Mycorrizhal fungus already added to the mix, it is called Pro-Mix BX Mycorise pro. It has shown to be a more effective growing medium for my methods than the original Pro-Mix. Just to let you know - I grow completely organically using the metanaturals line, in 2gal. grow bags, w/the pro-mix i mentioned, under 1200 watts mixed HID light, 33sq. ft room with more than adequate ventilation.

Hello all,

I agree witht he EWC's as a great source of microkiddies.

This is the stuff I use:

DOH!

https://www.organicsalive.org/organic..._products.html

I think it has made a a complete differenece in my growing. I make ewc/guano/molasses teas and add liquid kelp and feed every watering- they love it.

I do find giving metered amounts of water is also key. IMO

I use the granulated plant success in my transplant areas for a booster and it works pretty good.
