A single HIV patient in Amsterdam has been allowed by court to continue growing his own Ganja.
The anti HIV medicine he has to take induces vomitting, therefore he cannot keep the pills inside. Only certain strains of Ganja enable him to suppress the vomit reaction.
Normally patients get their medical cannabis from an official institution in The Netherlands, but the strains that they grow do not work for this patient.

The court case doesn't provide and jurisprudence for other patients, but it is a small step in the right direction.
