Howdy Folks,
What are your thoughts on this 'Hypothetical' situation? A = In terms of electric comsumption and peferformance, which example do you think would be more efficient??? For example: A = 2 - 6 inch Inline Fans air cooling/exhausting then scrubbed or B = 1 - 10 inch Inline Fan air cooling/exhausting then scrubbed for 4 x 600 watters what cha think????? do you think this setup would even be efficient?? any opinions or comments welcome Thanks in advance

You can probably actually go with a single 8" if you're only going to run 4 600s...I assume the hoods have 6" or 8" ducting?

yep
yea i have my eye on this 636cfm Elicent 8 incher. The fan is rated to treat a room containing up to 4000 watts of light yes the hoods are available with both 6" or 8" so your pick would be option B??? |

Yeah...option B is simpler to control (less points of failure). Plus you'll only need 1 scrubber, so that's less wasted room in the grow area and less hassle mounting it.
I use an 8" elicent and it does the job quite well and is VERY quiet as long as it's mounted correctly. Are you running a sealed room or is the scrubber on the outside of the grow area? |

Setup B looks like the way to go for sure, just get a little more powerful inline fan and you will save lots of money on carbon and the scrubber itself. Looks like a superb setup, can't wait to see it in action

I suggest changing your design to pull air through the scrubber instead of blowing into it while in the attic. The filter will work better, last longer, ect.
You may need 2 6" fans pull air through the lights and scrubber, but I think it will work out nicer. The filter will be the main exaust point for your room. |

Is this all you'll have for cooling things off? Do you live where it stays cold all the time? If you have to run AC too neither plan will work. Many growers using this type setup are struggling this summer with extreme heat. Even air cooled lights emit some heat. Being your planing 4 lights you will still have some heat to deal with. I'd go with B because I'm not an A type person. More info and good luck.
