Best mom for Grape Krush?
Hi all,
What should I look for in choosing a mom for Grape Krush? I've got about 7 girls to choose from just going into flower. Some look more indica dom, some more stretchy then others.. most aren't too crushed leaf looking at this stage, but some seem more sensitive then others (getting leaf curl with minimal nutes) one extremely cabbage leafed weirdo ugly duckling turned out to be male.. Any guidance is welcome! |

Man I've got 5 GK males so far. I would just pick the ones that look the best (if you can't flower them all). The best way to pick a mom is from the finished results.

agreed the best way is to smoke them all then decide. the best looker may not always be the strongest.

take a cutting off each mom and keep it alive, choose your mom after harvest.

Test the end product to make your selection. However, the more sativa leaning plants do not produce near as much as the indica dom ones(naturally), but the smoke can be very sweet.

Thanks all, especially Torc, as your answer is what I was looking for.
Ideal moms (ie. exceptional smoke and what the breeder was going for when creating the strain) might not look like much in veg, but usually exhibit some identifiable traits in flowering.. Why don't I just wait for a finished, smokable product of all moms before I choose? Well, because I'd like to go into full production without any downtime - take multiple clones of best mom(s) now for the next cycle. Anyone else out there who's experienced with this strain? |

Thanks guys.
I've been freakin out about the claw leaves.. thinking overfert problem.. but it seems that it's normal with this plant? Very excited, as they already smell delicious at 3 weeks.. and these are just the cloning for sex group.. straight from clone.. some are tiny due to no stretch. Do some turn more purple then others? Do the more purple ones smoke better, or worse? |
