side by side comparison of tb mutant and regular
well for those of you who saw my other attempt to document my experience w/ TB you know that there is some controversy over the mutants in the blue line. I was fortunate enough to get both a mutant and a regular girl, and have the opportunity to do a side by side comparison. i didnt post along with the run last time but i would like to do a more regularly updated thread, starting from veg, so that people can observe and draw their own conclusions, as much as is possible without tasting of course
![]() the purpose of this thread is to document both regular and mutant phenos for purpose of comparison of growth characteristics, yield, flavor, and buzz starting at a relatively early stage in their life. participation is more than welcome but please keep it to the topic of the thread. if you wish to get onto the topic of breeding or mutants in general (not blues specific mutants for the purpose of sharing information) then please make your own thread! not much to report at this time. they have somewhere around 3 weeks of veg from clone. they are in fox farm ocean forrest and feeding off of PBP, LK, hygrozyme, and sweet. they have just recieved mild pruning and have just had a few cuts taken off each for dwc. they will get a few days to recover from their procedure before joining their brethren in the great outdoors. they both eat the same. if anything, the mutant may actually eat slightly more. the only obvious difference in their profile is the twisty leafs of the mutant. for the sake of a fair comparison i will reserve judgement of buzz till these are both done. because I do not own my own camera, I have to borrow, and this means that the maximum this thread will be updated is weekly, but probably less. if you do have any specific requests of the pics to get a better idea of profile by all means request an angle or whatever. the first 2 pics are the regular pheno, the 2nd is of the mutant. i can take angle requests tonight, otherwise they will have to wait.. if you have a mutant by all means share and post along with me. |

well, a quick update.. this is not directly relevant to the thread, because the thread is documenting the life of 2 specific TB girls who are the exact same age, etc.
this particular post is just a general on topic post... I went out today to check the girls already outside. the first pictured is a fimmed mom that was stripped of every viable cut after about 2 months veg indoors, then given 2 more wks inside before going out. it is just recently outside and is thriving. it is a mutant cut but you will notice how it has grown out of most of its mutant leaf pattern. it is superior to the unfimmed regular pheno, but again it was vegged a long time before going out. here is a shot of a mutant cut put directly out after barely being rooted. it has been out approx 2 weeks. notice the horrible leaf warping. this is far more pronounced than ive seen yet and i attribute it to being put outside with less than 15 hrs light before being able to grow out of its mutant characteristics. thus, it seems they do not do well when put directly outside, but again i will reserve opinion till all is said and done. |

Great work lorax. I look forward to the finish. Plants aside, there is also something to be compared when looking at the difference in resin of the two as well.

this is certainly true! in the end that is truly what matters. I will state that I found the mutant to be the most euphoric buzz I have ever experienced, but I cut it at day 48 as opposed to 55 for the regular. this, coupled with feeding problems, are why I am interested in doing this thread - I honestly do not know what to expect for results.

Groer, keep that plant going. I bet she'll be really sweet, like this Grape Krush, whose mom btw, was showing the deformities just as yours. The clones showed no signs of these deformities.
