Meet Genghis, the 47 day sativa

Okay so here's the deal. Just for shits this spring I germinated a few hundred bag seeds I had gotten from mids over the previous year and planted the best 50 along with 8 strains i had purchased to get the best phenotypes. I put the germed seeds right into the moonshine Soil mix (OG), under a 1000Watt HPS for 12 hours of light/12 dark. we also had CO2 (no PPM reader) and a climate controller/AC (85*F during the day/ 65*F at night)

Some responded better than others. However I had a Sativa that finished in 42 days, and was medium yeilding and had an AMAZING high. I truely feel this is my favorite smoke out of the 50+ strains ive tried. If giving it at least one week to account for the stretch before flowering, I think I'm looking at a 35 day strain. It's a Medium/low yeilding plant with very little stretch that really responds well to Low stress testing as well as FIM and SCROG, not really a SOG plant tho. Also it's extemely durable to temp. as my cab for the 2nd grow has gotten over 100*F on occasion and it hasnt stressed at all. It unfortunately the first grow yielded a little over 4 grams at under 16in. tall. There were quite a few factors that led to the low yeild however. I started all the plants in 16oz solo cups and transplanted them mid flower to 1gal grow bags. Also we had some ligh leak issues and the plant was never fimmed/lst, resulting in a single 4gram bud that had medium density (closest to the Lifesave ive grown).

the smoke report was the best part though. I am a very heavy smoker at 3-10 times a day, and .3grams in a steamroller got me extremely high. There wasnt a noticable body buzz, and I expected that because we harvested it with 1/2 of the trichomes being semi-cloudy.

So I reveged the plant in a 1 gal grow bag and from 2 shoots the plant exploded in reveg like nothing ive ever seen. The only downside is that it is a hard strain to clone.

Anyways, this is the start of my 2nd Genghis Grow Diary. I took the mother that was in the 1gal grow bag and threw it into an 18gal rubbermaid container under a 400W MH and vegged it for 1-1/2 weeks. I took a few cuttings from it to give to people for backups then flowered switched the light to 12/12 once again on the 14th. since switching the light cycle it has taken another growth spirt and just started flowering yesterday.

These pics were taken the day of this threads creation

Almost sounds like some C99... It finishes ~ 49 days.

a 42 day flowering strain.....hm, I'm having a hard time grasping some of the short photoperiod strains that are pure indica, and the people have the pics to back them up. fastest I've ever had anything reach maturity is 52 days, it was a heavy indica bagseed. the fastest known flowering strain I know of is like 43 days and that is from an unsubstantiated online source, although they did give a good write up and its not impossible, now on the other hand, a sativa that takes 35 days to mature and harvest.....thats like believing you can fly.....I've grown sativas that didn't even have "recognizable buds" at 20 days flowering, just small spaced calyxes and pistils......not to mention you haven't even "finished" this strain in 35 days....only 42 which is why I am seeing what I believe to be a misunderstanding of your plants or maybe even an embellishment of the truth....but none the less, I have a hard time buying it.... "long live overgrow" or whatever they all say....
