"samenwonen"

Ok, just want to know any info on this loop hole in Holland. Looking to to move to the EU and came across this about holland. Any info would be great. Here's what i found doing a google search

" The easiest way to get a residence/work permit for the Netherlands is
to have a girl friend or boy friend that is either Dutch or from an EU
country and living and working in the Netherlands. The Dutch system
is very liberal in that committed, though unmarried, couples can enter
into what is called "samenwonen" -- living together. Samenwonen is
essentially the same as common law marriage, and it does provide a
non-EU partner a residence/work permit."

Just wondering, because my days are numbered and i'm going to be out of her soon and wanting to live in EU. Most likely Spain, but wouldn't mind Holland. Doesn't have to be Amsterdam like everyone wants.

Thanks for any and all help. Take care all

well it works like this.... if you can find someone who has a long term contract with their employer and is making enough money to support you than you can get a residence permit.

generally speaking, most european countries have an indoctrination course that is mandatory. mostly it's just learning the language, but there's some history and whatnot also.

although EU countries are aware of these loopholes and will try to make you prove the length of your relationship and whatnot. it's really not as easy as it seems.

here's the site you want... it's all the info you'll need...

https://www.ind.nl/EN/index.asp

and personally, as much as i love amsterdam, i wouldn't really want to live there. it's constantly crowded, and while that's not too big a deal (all of holland is crowded), it'll start to vex you when you need to get somewhere fast. and the fact is that if you're there every day it's less special. i live a 30 minute train ride from A'dam and i prefer it this way. i love living by the beach though.

Just shooting the shit and checking every angle. Most likely i'll be in Spain and opening a business. I found this the easiest way to become a EU member. Buying a house and opening a business and employing a few locals. Thanks for the info, just was curious about this loop hole.
Thanks everyone,

yes, while the north is less crowded it's hard to ignore holland's status as the second most densely populated country on earth...

...besides, i'm from Washington State originally so even the most 'desolate' parts of europe seem crowded to me...

i know, but still 80% of the country is owned by farmers. Everybody wants to live in the cities and around it.

I've got a uncle that lives in Holland, and stayed a whole summer there when i wad a teen. It's was one of my funniest summer in my life time. I wasn't smoking then, but i did have fun with the girl fiends i made there. They showed me all over the place. My uncle can't help me with getting legal statis there, since his is alittle grey his-self. Glad to see members posting all types of info.
Take care,

i live in Scheveningen... near the beach, which i love. but goddamn man, THE SHEER VOLUME OF PEOPLE HERE!!!! it's kind of opppressive...

i miss the sensation of knowing there's no other human beings for dozens of miles in any direction... that and i miss mountains... which kinda goes hand in hand.

it's hard to just be alone here... and that's kinda stressful...

it helps that there's a coffeeshop a block away from my house... for those tight 'inbetween grows' times...
