Grants Pass, Ore. – Starting Wednesday commercial marijuana growers in Josephine County will have new rules to follow after county commissioners passed changes to an old ordinance.
The changes impact commercial growers in rural residential zones. The old ordinance stated commercial marijuana grown in rural residential zones wasn’t allowed on lots of five acres or less. The new wording covers all lots in that zoning, effectively banning large grows in rural residential areas.
Commissioner Dan DeYoung said another change involves the annual certification.
“We had an annual certification we needed clarified. We have taken the fee out but you still have to do the annual certification,” DeYoung said.
The annual certification is needed for people growing under an OLCC license. That license is necessary for growers who have more than 12 plants.
Grower Aaron Gerk said he thinks these changes will hurt his business.
“I have no idea where my future goes beyond this,” Gerk said. “I will go from employing five people to being on welfare.”
DeYoung said the ordinance changes should not hurt those who follow the rules.
“The people that want to do it right and that are doing it right, and there’s a lot of them, I am on there side,” DeYoung said. “I don’t think the OLCC, the Feds, I don’t think anyone is after those folks.”
The changes to the ordinance are effective immediately and it will be signed into law in 90 days.
At least one group has said it will sue over the commissioner’s decision.

Its the federal constitution that would normal protect you from "ex post facto" legislation. The state government currently operates under the illusion that they are legally free from constitutional prohibitions in regards to marijuana laws because the feds won't protect you from them in such circumstances. The state government knows that they are wrong about that and they also know that nobody will ever test it, so the situation allows state and local governing bodies to to act like little dictators and of course they jump at the opportunity immediately.
Rob Patridge announced his control of the strain names regime and the changes he was demanding a few days before he took over officially.

PERS is about ready to eat this state alive and we aren't even really that "bad" off when looking across the country....but damn what Irony, because if you haven't picked up a paper in the last year, the red team sucks, well they always have and if your on the other "side" maybe blue, you are better and at least not a nazi, right . This all from the state with the lowest graduation rate in the country. Not Mississippi, Not Alabama, pick your cousin fucker state, not them, us. By the way, most of the states are freaking beautiful too and definitely not filled will rednecks....shhh, dont tell anybody it will ruin their party....

Everything you they taught you in elementary school about power corrupting and the need to protect yourself against that nature is playing out in textbook fashion in Oregon, the state has a long entrenched single party government which acts dictatorially and exclusively in it's own self interest, occasionally in disturbingly aggressive and violent ways. All of the same high pressure bullshit from the east coast's big cities are coming our way, toll roads, red light cameras, speeding cameras, all needed to pay for more cops and more bureaucrats breathing down the back of your neck demanding more money from you and more info about you, it makes you feel almost privileged to live in the land of the free.

My need for pure CBD is for my cat. For myself, I grow a strain here that is about half and half CBD & THC, called Herkle. The CBD definitely tones down the THC high, but the combo seems to work better for pain for me. I have also tried a lot of high CBD strains, like Frank's Gift and Therapy, which are both two to one CBD to TCH. Theya re both OK, but they do not seem to work as well for me as the half and half strains.

Medical is done here....by design. Once the OLCC took over they wanted all control.

Actually from my dealings and involvement with the OHA, it was actually the other way around. It was OHA that wanted nothing to do with OMMP, and they said that from early on. OHA gladly handed it over to the OLCC. Its the same in California where MMj is being dissolved there next year, and ALL medical goes away there and is being moved under the BCC. The BCC is California's equivalent to the OLCC, but unlike Oregon, BCC will only manage cannabis, and the ABC will continue to control booze there. Medical next year will get you sales tax free weed in California, and that is all. In Oregon the possession limits are a lot higher for medical card holders, and you can still grow more plants. And you get a break on the sales tax on weed with an OMMP card here. And it is still possible to grow medical here on a larger scale, though the state is forcing you into using OLCC tracking and testing.

But if you think this is bad and the end of the world, look at the insane taxes that the state and counties and cities are putting on growers and sellers in California. Grower excise state taxes, heavy point of sales taxes and excise taxes, insane local grow site square foot taxes, as well as heavy business taxes, license and permit fees, etc. I listed them all separately over on the "California has too much pot" thread here on IC. They are guaranteeing that the black market thrives there. But that will also be good for sales in Southern Oregon with cheaper rec weed for sale.

There are distillation rigs that separate Cannabinoids(max 96%)and terpenes simultaneously. I just need $75k for the machine and I got your cat covered!!
