Acrylic divider in mason jar

Anyone know if this would be ok? I want to use a flat black piece to divide my jar. I don't want the acrylic to leech obviously or ruin the smell.

Just to keep different strains separate. I don't really buy enough of one strain to fill the whole jar.

I currently just keep the different strains in the bags from the dispensary and that keeps them separate within the jar.

the acrylic is likely to add a plastic smell... I would suggest using a piece of cardboard instead...

That's what I'm worried about but I thought acrylic might be better than plastic. Cardboard would likely pull moisture from the product, which I don't want either.

Why not buy smaller jars then? I do this when I'm running out of space of your regular quart sized jars and then I downgrade them to a smaller capacity jar. They make jars that have the same footprint and mouth size opening as the wide mouth quart jars but are a quarter of the size. That way you can use the same lid from the widemouth quart jar on the smaller jar, especially useful if you have a label on this lid already.

A cardboard divider is going to suck all the moisture out of your buds.

I use cleaned out baby food jars(mashed fruit or veggie the ones with meat dont lose that smell). for larger amounts, they make mason jars in many shapes and sizes and their cheap, I find em in thrift stores as singles then just buy new lids.
