HERMIES? ALWAYS BAD?
a friend of mine has some seed that let me think about hermies for a longe time.
he growed chiesel some years ago and they turned out to be a little hermie. you can finde only a few seeds in the buds and when you grow them all are chiesel girls. now he is at the 5th or 6th generation chiesel and he says they also got a little better. kind of seed self-perpetuating strain? |

when you say the 5th and 6th generation are a little better does that mean generation 2through 4 have all been hermies? Cause that's alot of hermie

Most all strains are 'self perpetuating' if you leave them in flower long enough.

It is possible to breed the Hermie trait out of some strains and some (thai for ex.) Near impossible. Hermie flowers are beneficial if no father plants are available to further the strain. Just because pollen comes from a hermie does not mean the progeny will always be hermie.
But when you start with a hermie and just continue to grow those hermie seeds, you will have fem plants with hermie tendencies as nothing was done to fix the trait issue. |

what i know is that all the offsprings had that little hermie tendencies
and produced little seeds. i will try to get some of those seeds and grow them. |

There's a built in survival trait, more obvious in tropical/subtropical strains to mutate a few female flowers until they produce pollen, what are commonly referred to as 'nanners', the pollen is viable for that plant to produce seeds that will germinate next season, however the new plant can't do this again, it may produce nanners but the seed will be sterile
True hermaphrodites have both fully formed male and female flowers, Thai being a prime example

When harvested and dry smoke those bad girls up. You will get just as high or higher than seedless weed.
Fems, haze, Chem D and Thai type specimens can all go hermie some. IMHO people worry too much over seeds. I never once complained when I found some seeds. |

Only issue I would have is if the plants developed a bunch of nanners and pollenated an entire crop. That's a shitty sitty, imo. Lol Grow some of those beans if ya get em. |
