Make feminized seed from feminized plant

Is possible to create a feminized seed from a feminized seed? Like buy a feminized seed, grow it then spray that plant with colloidal silver spray. Or will the genetics be inbred and messed? I'm not 100% sure about this, isn't the genetics halved when their feminized, would that half it again and make the next seeds inbred too much or would they be fine?

Just to be clear, I'm not a breeder and I have no experience as one. I do read a lot about botany though, and I've got a decent grasp of the basics, and a pretty good understanding of genetics in general.

That being said, I think any reputable breeder is going to be producing feminized seed from two distinct plants anymore. S1 seed would probably be labelled as such, and even then you'd probably have to self for at least a few generations before you'd see any significant inbreeding depression.

Your seed should do just fine, but you might see a fair amount of variation in the S1 generation. You might see plants that look like either of the parents of the plant you're working with. successive generations would get both more uniform and less vigorous.

At least, that's my understanding. Hope I was helpful.

Good luck, and maybe start a thread when you grow out the seed. I'd be interested to see what comes up.

YES!
You can self feminized plant(s).

You should expect variation within the seed lot.

Genes are not halved in a selfed population. They are randomly recombined without adding others to the mix.

Good to know genes are not halved with selfed pollination. Maybe I will update this thread with pics of what I'm doing. My plan is to feminize a 60 day lemon from dnagenetics and make a good seed supply of this autoflower. This plant is almost 20 dollars a seed, so its very expensive.

You'll have problems selfing a true autoflowering strain.
They can't really be cloned so your best bet is open pollenation using all available males & females that you deem good enough to use as parent stock.

If you only have fem seeds grow out one or two and reverse, collecting pollen.
Germ the remainder of your seeds and pollenate using the collected pollen.
This is why I choose to avoid fem seeds & especially femmed autos.

I no fems are not good for breeding anyways but I like experimenting and but them seeds made me totally shy away from feminized anything and It kind of gave me a bad rep cause I was giving them away to buddies to expriment with and they had the same results

acrid is on a distinguished road
I think this answers the question I came to have answered..
So, it IS possible to use a feminized plant to create seeds(?)
Are there any disadvantages; as opposed to using a plant from regular seed?

I guess it depends on the method the seeds were made but yes it is possible
