F2 Phenos slow to preflower

I am making some F3 seeds and I noticed some of the more Sativa F2 phenos are slower (about a week) then the more Indica F2 phenos to throw preflowers. My question is about bud flowering time. Will the actual flowering time be longer for the F2 Sativa phenos? I hesitate to cull them as they have a tremendous amount of the smell (orange taste) I am looking for. The breeding goals are orange taste, early finishing, potency in that order. Thanks

On a general basis, those who have sativa leaning traits will take longer than Indica leaning phenos. I would be patient and see what both phenos bring. Might take 2 or 3 extra weeks but the result could be nicer than the quicker plants. Guess what is more important an 8 week flower and average bud, or 10 weeks for better bud (maybe). You can always take the orange plant and isolate that with a shorter flowering male. More time indeed, but patience being applied to a longer flowering time, or more sibling crosses might be your option.

What are your plants flowering under?
Artificial indoor light or the big light in the sky?
What is the Day/Night schedule?

You could be seeing different pre flower times due to genetic segregation in that particular pool.

The earlier flowering cultivars may simply finish sooner that the later starters. It's really all up in the air.

Only way to be sure what you've got is to grow them out & see what happens.

Im assuming your working with a multi-hybrid cross as well. IBL lines should perform like their parents.

If you have plants that show the traits you looking for why
doubt flowering time? A couple weeks more is a no brainer.

Modify your goals to get closer to desired results I say.

sativa's are in general slower to flower, but i wouldn't mind if i were you
a good smell/taste is worth the wait, isn't it?
