Thought I'd share my thoughts on the new drug driving laws after a close encounter this evening

Driving back from the the local pub ( had a half lager and a red bull so was well under ) and saw the blue lights in the rear view,

So pulled over, turned out a car like mine had been pinched earlier on and id bought the car a few days earlier from a local dealer so the v5 was still registered as London on their computer .... So fair enough

Copper was nice enough, showed him my licence and ID and logged into online natwest to show the payment for the car etc etc

How ever he then tells me he that they are conducting random drug driving tests in this area and as I was swerving ( I wasn't ) he was entitled to test me ( jumped up prick, I have a half decent car, and a Mrs with a nice rack so he was all pissy that I wasn't a drunk or car thief like he thought )

So out comes the magic test, I last smoked on Sunday, and only a few joints...

Test came back negative and 0.0000 in my system for weed ( don't do Coke at all and that's all they test for )

So for people that wondered how long it stays in your system I'd say less than 3 days, but it screws up casual daily smokers I bet

Thought I'd share my story incase anyone was wondering about the new tests

This thread reminded me of a story on the bbc news a month or 2 back.
They were going on about these swab tests and the reason they do them.
Some matey killed someone with his car a couple of years ago. He told the police he had smoked a joint earlier that day. So the whole accident and death was put down to him smoking cannabis.
So anyway to show how dangerous it is to smoke cannabis and drive, the reporter went on a driving course while under the effects of cannabis.
They put weights on her arms and legs, they put some ear phones on her ears so she couldn't hear very well and to top it off they put some goggles on her face.
The goggles were misty and they flashed different colour l.e.d lights in her eye's.
What weed has these effects? I want some.

I put it down to typical British media anti cannabis propaganda. I also see that these swab tests are mainly carried out in the big city's,London,Birmingham,Manch ester and Liverpool.
I think only the big police forces can afford to do loads of these tests because of how much they cost.
It costs them a further £600 if you get a roadside positive.

The swabs only test for residue, so after a couple hours it wont detect anything.

12 hours, been reported for the ones here, does the officer swab or do you do it?

I've been pulled over twice in Manchester over the last 6 month's and not once been tested lol, you'd think I would as well having foot long dreads.
Got tested for alcohol and checked me and the car out but that's it .
And I'm glad you didn't get f****d over for smoking a few days before freedom38, its the last thing any of us want losing a license for doing nothing wrong.

Pretty sure it will be like a breathalyser, just analysing what is in your breath/saliva. Cleaning your mouth by eating, drinking or even smoking cigarettes massively lowers breath analysis tests, so you would have to guess that it also does for swabs. If you do test positive,and it is not a massive %, just stick firmly to a "it was a few days ago, I am not under its affects" line and go not guilty all the way.

They are doing the same here in Spain, I have escaped being tested 10 times thanks to Orange Magic spray, the one time I didn't use it, cop smells weed, says he wants to test me, my local mate talks him out of it saying that it was him smoking and that I didn't smoke. He believed it and didn't teset me !
