I was recently watching a documentary about the hells' angels. I noticed a patch of just the # 13 and asked some of the biker bro's what it meant. They said it was a reference to pot. Anybody have any historic facts about how this came about?

you should just check out the hell angels book written by hunter s thompson.

i remember what the 13 meant, it just means "M" is the 13th letter of the alphabet.
i forgot what it represent though... i guess it just means you toke.

The 13th letter of the alphabet is M - According to Hunter Thompsons 'Hells Angels' wearing 13 represents M for Marijuana (ie it means the wearer is a smoker )

I live half way around the world from your location +/- a few miles.
No beautiful lakes like that around here. the real only fishing is deep sea.

I have heard it a different way,13=M for murder,meaning you killed for the club.

About 40+ years ago, when I was just a kid, the Hell's Angel's wore the 13 patch on thier leather jackets. It does mean the 13th letter of the alphabet...M..which stands for marijuana.This is the meaning of my handle and the patch I saw when I was a kid, is where I got it from. Peace to all you 13ers out there.
