Mtntroggers Relentless Test gear
Been a fan of Relentless since I joined IC. Watched on the sidelines as drop after drop, noticed people were going crazy for his gear. I dont like to compare , but watching the rise of Relentless is like seeing what happened with Bodhi all over. What I really dig about Relentless is how he conducts himself on here. Absolutely the most stand up breeder on the scene at the moment. I am honored to have been selected to test a couple of his fine strains. He sent me a pack each of Cherry Cookies f2 and the diesel fire cookies. A bit bummed to be behind in the game as the other testers are like a month or more ahead of me.
This grow is my official restart, after being forced to shut down for the last few months due to a broad/russet mite invasion. I tossed all my plants , tents ,pots and much other gear. Then pulled all of the carpet from our apartment and replaced with wood floor. So in addition to having to buy new tents I decided it best to be ready in advance for any possible outbreak. I have purchased a usb microscope and also (yet to be delivered) a vial each of Forbid and Avid. Planning on a bottle of Kontos as well. Hoping to have a exterminator come and heat treat the house as a further preventative measure. Will also sterilize the returning gear (lights, fans) with bleach (pure) and then peroxide. This restart will be from seed only, no clones. In addition to these Relentless testers I will be running a few MotaRebel strains as well as a Bruce Banner cross that I made. Like the other testers, I have way too much respect for Relentless to distract this thread with other pics. Same situation with Mota. Very down to earth stand up dude, putting out fire. I will do a journal over at the farm for anyone interested. Mota is over there for the most part. Really excited to get this started, and show off some of Relentless'excellent work. Since I was so wordy with this post I will outline my planned cultivation details on the next one. |

The approach
I am going crazy to get started growing again ! As I stated in my first post , I had to shut down a couple of months ago after Broad/russet mites took over my grow. I refuse to start up with out ensuring I will not succumb to pests of any kind. Basically at this moment if I could afford a bag of light warrior I d be soaking these seeds. Should happen in the next day or two. Xray has done such a fine job in his thread (check it here https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=315103 ) that I aspire to detail this grow as much as he has. I usually as a rule, only use distilled h2o on seeds. However am really curios as to what ratio you guys (like xray) use the peroxide in your water ? I employ the soak in a glass method, then after 12-18 hrs, place em in paper towels on plates covered with plastic , place in a warm area, and mist once or twice a day with straight distilled h2o until they show tails. Then directly into a seed starter mix (I most often use Fox Farms Light warrior) in plastic beer cups, which i cover with plastic after watering with the distilled h2o. As soon as they break the surface I remove the plastic and put em under a t5 light. I use a 2 foot 4 bulb. I generally continue to water with distilled h2o only until the second real set of leaves start to form. This time I plan on adding some asprin to the distilled h2o. As far as medium goes, Ive always used a modified version of "moonshine mix" (FFOF/Happy Frog/Black gold mix) until last year, when I started seeing Canna products on a few shelves. I was tired of mixing all the bags of dirt and additives every time, very laborious process. I also wanted to see hydro results from a hand watered set up. My last grow (the mited one !) was my first attempt at all canna run. I will try the same this time. I will transplant from the FF light warrior into Canna "Terra" a peat coco mix. I will be feeding via a hand sprayer using Canna Terra nutes with a bit of a new micro product called Mammoth. Would really love to hear anyones experience using the Canna line. My flower tent (which I still need to re purchase) will be a 4 x 4 (Hopefully Gorilla) lit by a 600 watt hps on a dimmable ballast. I am hoping to flower around 20 ladies planted in 3 gallon grow bags. A tight fit...hell yeah ! I really am going to try to push these into flower fast. I will veg til large enough to top/clone, then veg for another week , then flip em. Estimating 45 days from germ til flip. Suggestions and input are always welcome
