Never the need to apologize my man. Yip heat and that shit starts getting spindly, fluffy, etc, etc... Lucky for me I focus on outdoor growing. I tweak my plants here and there but let nature to most the work.

I thought it was common practice? At least that's what was always taught on OG & HC Anyway, if we look at the ancestral original home of cannabis, the Hindu kush....

It has on average in june a nighttime temperature of 20c minimum... Some people really struggle to keep lights off temp at that 20c minimum but if you can keep it at 22c & lights on at 25c in the canopy then that is bang on optimum. If you can keep lights on and off temps both at 22c then please do post your results for all to see, they will be good I think.remember its 22c at the rootzone.....

Any higher than 22c lights off & your tempting root rot, foxtailing, wispy buds etc as pointed out by bigganjabud

When growing indoors, all we try to do is replicate as much of the outside as possible. But that was a presumption using my common sense. I could be wrong.
Totally agree mate. A nice easy yeild increase just by controlling temperatures a byproduct would be less stretch in transition to flowering.

Unrelated but I shall share here......

I've also adapted a new light cycle regime for flowering based on the chronological light hours in the Hindu kush..... The longest day of the year gives just over 14hrs of daylight in the HK...
in September they have 13hours...
October 12hours, November 11 hours and December a little under 10 hours a days of sunshine.....

So weeks 1-4 of flowering will be 13/11...
weeks 5 & 6 12/12....
Weeks 7 & 8 11/13
weeks 8-10 10/14

peace

Take notes of everything you are doing. Dates, amounts, light cycles, types of soils, temps and soil/ water Ph's. If you want to breed your own seed you must be diligent on all notes taken. STUDY , STUDY , STUDY!!! PEACE

High mate

I've only got one tent (dr120) but if I ever get another one, I will definitely do a side by side experiment or 3! Then we can all laugh at my failures lol

in regards to my lighting cycle I was initially inspired recently by DJ Short's comment on bringing out sativa phenotypical expressions with lights set at 11\13...as I grow predominately indica Dom hybrids I've thought having lights at 13\11 would bring out indica phenotypical expressions.....also Sonic aka GanjaBaba uses 12.5\11.5 & his donkey cola grows must be doing something right?! I first adapted his 12.5\11.5 cycle in 2010 but never documented the grow & haven't grown again since but harvested my biggest yeild ever, 22oz/600w/dr120/coco/2satori & 2 iced grapefruit...

Here is a thread that displays the virtues of 13/11 https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread....59#post4622759

Hmmm a diary....farmerlion has a very good tip, i have regretted not keeping a journal of past grows as after a prolonged break, I'd forgotten everything and have to relearn was proper pickled when I unpacked my equipment & saw the timer wasn't 12\12...like a fool I reset it to 12\12

Keep it green, peace

Yea didn't use to take as many notes but nowadays keep a few spreadsheets on my computer with flower times, notes on strains, planning veg times to correspond with flower, etc.

First grow, you're taking pictures every other day, and writing it down every time a new leaf comes in.
By your fifth grow, you're lucky if you remember what day you flipped them.

Haha so true. I still try to keep detailed notes of everything but most days I just end up putting in ec/ph on my iPhone in my daily notes section.

It really helps to keep track of everything, especially if running same strain because then you can see where you went wrong if you run into problems. I can't wait till I have everything on same cycle all in coco on a drop system. Can't keep up with multiple systems and different mediums - I was just doing some comparisons - but here's a tip for any new growers - COCO - or anyone wanting to switch it up. Life is so much better with coco
