Oxygen absorbers get HOT!

My Oxygen absorbers are HOT when I open them.
I read its normal.

The dispensary said its now required, they demand

Oxygen absorber.

I did not know they get hot.

Assuming it wont harm the medicine, but can any one chime in?

Watts is right. Actually you can substitute hand warmers for the more expensive oxygen absorbents. If your container is truly air tight the hand warmers will shut down and stop producing heat once all the oxygen is consumed.

Oxygen absorbers are made of a chemical compound, the active ingredient of which is a powdered iron oxide. When used with proper packaging and sealing, the oxygen in the packaging is greatly reduced bringing the oxygen level down reliably to approximately .01%or less.

Bump...

I looked into these a bit. Found lots of them on amazon exc for dry storage of food stuffs like grains and such.

I think these could b great for me as I don't have a large deep freeze to store full units. And I don't like leaving them sit around at room temp.
But if I hav to, these could help.

I'd like to hear more of all of your guy'ses exp with oxi absorbers and dry storage, and dispensary input too.

Thanx in advance
Big ups respect and happy growing.
