Best LEDs just got better - BML transforms into Fluence
The best light on the market is the BML Spyder 1200, the BML Spydr 1200 outperforms the DE HPS sometimes drastically depending on the strain.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9gdoTO3_kw clearly these Spydr 1200s are incredible but now they are going to be all white light and have even higher par value and the light bars are slightly longer and thus more evenly illuminate the 4 x 4 canopy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nAJZHffSSY Video unveiling their new lighting... The BML 1200s were over 2k and these new Fluence will be under 2k. Still pricey, but by far the best light in the industry and nowhere near the most expensive LED. If you don't want to commit to an expensive big fixture I'd recommend their custom DIY BML series. |

Do they pay you by post or are you on a general retainer?
My opinion differs from your opinion. But I spent time and money on a testing grow room where I do nothing except grow plants under various lights. Presently I am growing with five brands of LED as discharge lights are not making new progress. And for stand alone lighting HPS comes in dead last in equal photon count growing. Based on this experience I find the claim of your favorite being "by far the best light in the industry" to be baseless and untested. I tend to overreact to misinformation, the Spyder may be an OK light but this is a growing forum, not an advertising site for commercial messages. |

I just think they're the best... Just wanted to let other people know the fluences are coming out and that the spyder 1200 yielded more than the de hps side by side... Gets me excited is all - I won't know for sure until I try them out and I'm in no way affiliated with them or advertising for them, im thinking about ordering one to see how it goes I'll post my results and if it sucks than I'm just a stoned fool

Then why are you calling it 'the best'? I actually own a SPYDR 600. Done 3 complete grows with it, including a reveg (see my threads) It's good, but far from the best. The design concept is excellent, but the execution is poor The red and blue spectrums all line up on each bar to create a Venetian blind effect (only a small portion of each the plant directly under them is benefiting) For ~ $1200 I would rather own 2 Amare Technologies SE250s (COB Hybrids) to cover ~ 3 x 6 PLUS separate o/o switches for veg flower. Click on my thread to see one SE220 performing in a 3 x 3 Tell us again, why the BML is the best

ILS (Intelligent Light Source) 300 watt output LED will not bud plants due to its penetration sweet spot range of 6".
Advanced XTE and Hydrogrow X2 300 watt outputs have to be kept a minimum of 24" from the plants to avoid bleaching, the sweet spot is about 20" deep. Platinum 300 watt and Black Dog 400 watt fall between the above mentioned brands are are very similar in penetration to a 400 watt HID with about 12" penetration. The assumption that LEDs compare poorly to the best discharge lights is mostly true, the cheap LEDs for sale do not function well as grow lights. But that is from sleazy marketers, not the technology. LEDs are capable or more intense light than any other technology marketed today. The good ones are not cheap but function very very well. Five years ago the top quality LEDs were costing $6 USD per watt. In the last few months I have purchased five good brands and none were over $4 per watt. Just to be fair I also bought two inexpensive LED brands for less than $1 per advertised watt. The plants did not grow under GLED or Xen-Lux lighting, no penetration at all even if all the walls were covered with them. Not all HIDs are the same and neither are LEDs, discretion is the better part of purchasing. |

Thanks for sharing the info guys.
I was on the Spydr 1200 bandwagon until I started looking at other fixtures. It would appear as though the white "complete spectrum" diodes are making a lot more appearances in newer generations which is something to look out for. I have a 4x8' table and was contemplating getting two of the Spydr 1200's to cover this space. However, I'm now also contemplating the Amare SE250s to cover that same space. Whatever I end up with I'll be sure to share a journal here with you guys. -DZ |
