Thanks for the info soserthc1, I appreciate it!
And I'm not looking for freebies, I just started this thread to see if this was a common issue. I got referred to the thread above and I figured I should ask, why not right? I couldn't get any out of the 20 seeds to pop so I thought there was something wrong with that particular batch. It's not like I grew these out and wanted more seeds for the hell of it, but you're right about people complaining just to get free stuff. Those bastards ruin it for the rest of us who genuinely have issues. |

I just got some BOG seeds and would hope the help is
around if & when I need it. BOGs seeds are notorious for being hard. Scuffing is a must, IMO. Quote:
How does it assist germination? First I've heard of it being used like that. |

3 weeks?! Lawd jeezus. Here is my process that seems to work pretty well. Put the seeds in a paper towel and wet it. Put this on a plate and let the excess water run off. Now put another plate over top the other one to essentially make a plate humidity dome. Put them on a warm heating surface like a floor register for your furnace (off center) in the winter, a heating pad, or even something like a cable box as long as it isn't getting too hot. You should have roots in 24 hours and ready to plant in 48-72 hours. Much longer than that and it's a safe bet your seeds won't ever germinate. When popping seeds like this I take the straggler seeds that haven't germinated and gently crack them between my teeth. Sometimes this works and other times the seed is essentially just never gonna happen and you can chuck them out.

I bought some sour boggle and didn't get any to germ. I tried all the methods mentioned except the scuff method. I contacted BOG and what a righteous dude he is. Not only did he replace them but he sent me a pack of Sour Bubble also. I like a man who stands behind his product. That Sour Bubble is damn potent and lives up to the hype.

Thanks @who_dat_is and @highroller614.
I'll try that, I think I'm going to try all different germ teks and see what works the best for me. I have some old bag seeds, might as well try on those, right? Or maybe when I purchase another lot of beans. |
