Hi guys Fuggzy here for a bit of a grow n show. I was recently was able to get some Afterthought gear from a friend, and am excited about growing them out. First off my main PC is not running atm, so no current pics for a bit. Sorry.
The current setup is in my micro cab, and has 4 plants going in it atm. I am using 1/2 gallon fabric pots, and aware that bigger would be better, but this is for a micro grow after all. I have 5 gallon pots for a later grow, but they are in use with another breeders autos atm. The soil is organic. I used LC mix#1, and nutes #1 from the forums, and have modified it with many local resources. For the current grow I have 2 Azure rockets, a unnamed strain I've kinda dubbed Crazy Ape (Psychofruit X Guerrilla Ryder), and a Crystal Dwarf from freedom of Seeds. I'm a big fan of blueberry strains, so I hope to always have some in rotation. So AR#1 and Crazy Ape where both sprouted on 11/2, and on day 16 (yesterday) they both decided to show pollen sacks. This is no biggie, as I plan on harvesting the pollen for making my own seed stock, and mixes. They where transplanted in when I got the new pots, and got a decent lil' shock from it. Although recovered, they are only ~3" tall. The new growth has been very vibrant, and healthy. The AR actually has some slight purple on parts of it's leaves (1-2%). These 2 fellas will be taken outside soon to make room for 2 more seedlings. I've been thinking about making a male micro cab too. I'm not sure just yet. My 2nd set of seed in the cab is another AR, and the Crystal Dwarf. These both sprouted on 11/16. Close your eyes, and imagine a nice green seedling, now double that thought. That's what I got. If the CD turns female I will be dusting her with the CA pollen. So a couple other AA strains I have are Cord Verde, & Spumoni, although those will be saved for the larger tent. As far as tastes, and effects I have a decent selection. I look forward to doing some pollen chuckin'. The seeds will be just for me, so I can have fun playing with it, and not stress (to bad) about ruining it all. I do plan on keeping a stock of the regular strains too, just in case I do fub up a batch though. This is my 2nd attempt at autos, with my 1st still growing. I am open to any advise you guys want to throw at me. The items I plan on using for ferts, and my IPM are: Neem & karanjs cake, and teas. Crab meal, and teas Agsil 16h potassium silicate. Seeds are inoculated with mycorrhizal fungi. Azomite dust. 6 different worm castings. (2 bought, 2 free range, and 1 home made) Fermented plant extracts. Alfalfa & timothy grass hay. Fungi ridden wood mulch. Kelp extracts. Fish hydrolysate. Rabbit poo. (Mr. carbonfoot is happy to help) For my outdoor plants I have been doing a heavy rotation of foliage sprays, not using the same thing 2 days in a row. I'm not sure yet if I will be doing this in the micro cab. It has proven so far to be a major help in pest management, but moisture kinda likes to stay in the micro cab, so I'll have to just feel this 1 out. I hope to get some pictures up soon. For now these are just to reference the cab size which is a 11"*13" foot print. The light is a diy cob using vero 10s. 4 vero 10. 2 @ 3000k, and 2 @ 3500k. Ran at 350ma. ~26.7v * .35a=9.345w *4= 37.38w total. For those that think ~38w won't work. I would like to show my first harvest. This was a single plant that split in a large V at 9" tall. It gave me a 1/4 dried sparkly buds. Although, when I get an extra ~$25 I plan on adding 2 more for ~56w total. Well until next time, take care and happy farmin'.

Looks like a good project. If your medium is clean, there's not much interest for pests to hang out. You are going to transplant into bigger containers I hope.

In regards to larger pots I searched for tall square fabric pots, but was not able to find something that would work out right. If I was able to find a square pot, it would have to be no larger that 5.5"sq. the best thing I could find was 6" even. With my cab not actually being a square foot, it made this task difficult. So four 5"round 1/2 gallon pot is what I will be working with for right now. If I like the pots, I plan on stitching 1 on top of another, and doubling the height. It is not optimal, and I understand that. This cab/set up was intended for photo and then I went and got all auto seeds.... I should have the large led wired up in the next 2 weeks, and will run my next batch in it. Those will be in 5 gallon fabric pots. Trust me I won't blame genetics for me getting a small plant. ![]() The problem is I ran out of buds, and had to start paying for it again. My oldest plant is still at least 3-4 weeks from harvest if I had to guess. So I wanted to make sure something was at least growing. Plus side is I already have 2 different pollens forming at the moment. Although the AR will only be used to make more AR for the time. Speaking of males, Crazy Ape has a few purple spots coming in. I am really hoping that a "colored" psychofruit pheno is what I am seeing. That would put a smile on my face. It is just on 2 pollen sacks, and the tip of a leaf, but it is a royal purple. The males have seem to start hyper drive already. in ~48 they both doubled the amount of pollen sacks, and are about 4"-4.5" now. Also they are getting a herb smell, not much but noticeable (lol at least more smell than the neem). I'll be out of town for the next week. I have a feller doing the watering for me. I'll see if I can get some pics sent to me to post. Fair warning though, he sucks with a camera. Thats about all for now. Till later, take care.

You'll be looking at root bound plants. Plus, there are numerous bugs that can "overwinter" if not cooked in your current re-used soil. If space gets tight, choose the best 4 (out of 5) or 3 (out of 5), go with 1.5-2 gallon pot if kept in cab. Ok, you'll be transplanting into 5 gallon cloth/fabric pots? Good. Make sure adequate perlite in mix.

The cab is 11" x 13" so the most a pot can be is 5.5" if I do 4 plants. Everything I have found above 1/2 gallon is 6". I am still looking for tall skinny pots. I have found some nice square 3 gallon pots, but only 2 will fit. I ordered 2, and am waiting for them. The 5 gallon pots are for my tent, and currently have my oldest plants (also auto) in them. Lets see... I've been on vacation for a while, and sick after that, so it's been a while. Both of the males have been removed, and pollen has been harvested. I only took pollen from AR #1 for 4 days, and gave him the axe. He was ~18" toall and 5" wide at the base. The roots where not bound at all, but fluffy. I don't plan on mixing AR with anything else for now, so I just took about 1/4, of a 1/2 dram vial. I'll dust the AR female with it... Crazy Ape has been harvested for 6 days now, and I may just keep him around for now. He is still in the 1/2g pot and ~18" tall. He has about 18 leaves and 150 nuts, plus I have harvested about 65 sacs. Stem rubs smell kinda like skunkberry (funk in the foreground and fresh in the background ) , with a faint "sweet" smell in the back. His sacs are about 40/60 purple/green as they mature, and there is a small amount of trichs growing too. I have vaped some of the sacs after harvesting, and was impressed. I tried it as my first smoke of the day to get a clear opinion. It had a headband effect, that felt more like a raccoon's mask. It was more of a head high, and didn't get me sluggish. The body side was calming, but light and subtle. It was short lived at about ~30 min, but it was a enjoyable high. I have about 1/2 a vial of pollen, and have dusted a branch of an amnesia photo. I removed the wrap from the amnesia today, and all looks well. The hairs have changed to red/brown and are shrinking down. AR#2 has shown her lady part this morning. She is short and stout, but stacking on the growth. I'd say she is about 3.5" and is working on her sixth nod. Very compact internod growth, with lateral shoots growing.Crystal dwarf looks almost the exact same, but is on the 7th nod, and about 1/4" taller. This plant has not shown sex yet. I gave both the remaining plants a light (bit under 1/2 strength)feeding of fish hydrolysate, kelp, and molasses on Tuesday.

day 46
So I haven't been around Icmag much recently, but thought I would update my afterthought autos. I decided that the grow would continue as a micro grow, being thats what I started it as, and intended to do. Didn't see any reason to go spend more money on bigger gear. Now that I have a functioning light for my larger tent, I can do some larger auto when I choose to. This grow has been very fun.
Group shot (AR, crystal dwarf, cord verde, gsc) I am using earth juice nutes, and have been giving the flowering plants full strength flower nutes for ~20 days now. Neither 1 of them seemed to mind, they just drank it right up. Both the flowering girls also got some defoliation at around day 20. Rather than go in to shock, the exploded. Unorthodox.... I know. Afraid to try it out.... No. Shit nothing about this grow is orthodox in that regards. I should have lil stumps of nothing according to all the warnings I have read. I don't know maybe I am just getting lucky. Azure Rocket #2 is doing great. She has a sweet berry, and some really nice colors. She is pretty sticky. I'm ready to try this girl out. Crystal Dwarf (not an afterthough, but in the cab) This girl looks just like AR#2. She has a bit less lateral buds, and more of a center bud. She doesn't have a very pronounced smell, but she smell like bud. The frost on her looks great. Cord Verde (29 days old) This lady is stated to be taller than the above plants, and is staying true to her genes. I almost gave this girl the boot early on. She is a mutant, and had twin. After about a week she had me intrigued. I chopped the twin and let her stay in the cab. She did a natural 3 way split on the 3rd nod, and the center stalk just stopped growing after that. Those 3 shoots are going crazy however. She is already 4" taller than the older plants. A few days ago I super cropped her (another bad idea, i know), and she seems to be responding well. With in 12 hours the top of the plant was pointing straight up, and the knuckle is forming nicely. On her nods there is only growth on 1 side, rotating sides all the way up. There is nothing symmetrical about this plant. I'm glad I kept her around, she is responding to training pretty well. This pic is right after the super crop. This is the next morning after the super crop. All 3 shoots are now even. The last pot in the first pic is a girl scout cookies by FastBuds. It is just sprouting in the cab, and will be moved to the larger tent. I think after this grow, the micro cab, and system will just be for breeding. Speaking of which, I took some of the pollen from the Carzy ape, and polinated a amnesia haze photo branch. I harvested 32 healthy looking seeds. I have another amnesia in veg right now, and hope to get some more CAs going soon. Till next time, take care.

Azure Rocket is on day 56, and looks great. Some reason I can't seem to capture the true colors of this lady. The trich production does not show as good as real life either, but this thing is covered, and sticky.
The smell seems to be changing on me recently, still a sweet berry foreground. The back ground though has had a slight tropical smell, I've smelled a creamy sweet smell (this morning), and a faint kind of dankness. I took a tester bud off the bottom last night to judge how it was going. Well it is going well. I smoked it this morning with a fresh mind, and a wrecked back. It was a nice relaxation, but not couch locking at all. More like being in a state of peace, but able to go about my day mentally clear, and physically at ease. Even after doing a quick drying the oven, it still smelled like berries. Oh, and the plant smells a LOT! I have 4 different genetics going and I can only smell her when getting in the tent. Speaking of tents, I got it set up. This girls will obviously be finished in this pot, but I have 2, 3.5 gallon pots prepped for more Afterthought autos. I currently have another AR, and a Spumoni soaking, and should be in the soil tonight. They will be grown under a 150 hps, and get all the same nutes, and all that good stuff. Here are the current micros in the tent. For only being 7.5" tall she has a good amount of bud on her. Lol more than my 15" plant by a different breeder. If the wife will let me use her camera I'll add a few better pics to show off her true beauty. Well that all for this girls, on to the Corde Verde update. Take care.

So this girl is just trucking along as well. She is growing like a lil' monster, and keeping her in control is almost a pain. But it's a good pain. "Oh no! I'm going to get more than I thought" kind of pain. I am adjusting her lst about every other day to try and keep her even.
So there are a few thing that have me a bit boggled, and was hoping you might help me out Aridbud. From my understanding she should have a citrus smell. Now I know her smell is going to change, but on stem rubs she smells like old school hair dye. There are smells of acetone, and turpentine. I can only really smell it on stem rubs, but when I do, it is REALLY strong. Also, I was curious if Cord Verde naturally grew with little to no under brush. 10" of fury, with 10 tops of love. Take care guys.
