Mars hydro led's ?
Happy weekend all
![]() I need to start looking into led lights but I haven't got a clue what I'm looking at . I like the look of the budmaster ones but the price is out of my league . I've come across Mars hydro and there prices seem a lot cheaper but like I said I'm new to these and there a bit confusing ![]() I'd be looking for one for the 1m veg tent and 2 to go in a 2.4m tent . Anyone got any recommendations or have tried the Mars hydro ones ? Thanks in advance Edgey |

Just so you know going in, those Mars LED panels run hot as hell. They try to make there stake saying you will save 40% in energy because you don't need AC and extraction fans, there lying bro. Those greens ones are the reflector series and there even worse. Just remember, the reason there so cheap is because the parts there using are cheap quality
There warranty service is not great either. I have two panels I have been trying to get serviced and it's taken me 6weeks to get any results and that's just for one of my panels , they still have the other. I had to argue for 3 weeks for them even to inspect them because they kept blaming the issues on my environment but turns out at least one panel was faulty. There customer service is a joke. I had to purchase a new setup so I have a light in the meantime They work OK but I don't think there worth it at all. Any benefit of energy savings you get will show in your loss in yield. If you save a few watts but loose a few ounces of your harvest, what's the point ? |

Seems to be mixed thoughts on led's in general , some people swear by them others think there a fad .
I don't really want to change but my area is being fitted with smart meters early next year so I need to reduce my wattage :-/ |

The 5w chips do address the issue of light penetration but it comes at a cost, heat. The other thing to consider is how efficient they are. Are you willing to sacrifice half your yield to save a few watts ? IMO there are two options right now. One , spend a good bit of money on a light using cree chips like Apache or two , DIY panels using quality chips. Those Chinese panels will leave you disappoint in the end bro I'm telling you |

Hey edgey bro, herbs used the mars well: https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=278599 But me on the other hand in a loft without much head room suffered huge losses and sold them a lot cheaper than I bought them for a few months after :( Killed my plants: https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=265185 You need a great root mass before introducing them and you need a lot of head room as well mate.

I'm thinking about just getting air cooled shades till I'm forced to change now mate , seems to be a lot of negatives unless you fork out big money and until I have to I might leave it . I'll look at one for the veg tent maybe and go from there

Yup the LED's DJXX is talking about are awesome. They provide the same quality buds(prolly better, but that's just my opinion), and the yield on par with HID's. I have a Forum Cut under a single 150 model, and it's frostier than usual, and bigger than usual. I will snag a pic tonight.
