Will this work
Do you guys think this fan would be (1) good ventillation for a 18 in. wide , 18 in width, and 30 in. tall box(which i think has like 6 cf). (2) do you think that it will be noisy?
And this is the specs This versatile 4 In. In-line fan can boost airflow by up to 80 cfm. For convenient installation the housing is crimped on both ends. The fan runs on 110 volt household current and efficiently uses 30 watts of electricity. • For 4 In. flexible and rigid ducts. • 4 In. fan has free air CFM of 40 and max boosted CFM of 80 • These quality fans install directly into home or office duct work. • UL and ETL Listed |

If you're not pulling through a filter or through any bends in the ducting that'll be good, but fans like that get really bogged down if they don't have free air flow. That one is only rated for 40cfm for free air, so if you make it fight against anything it could get near useless in a hurry.

Those are loud and can't push through much. Like bounty said, without restrictions it will work ok. For 40cfm personally I'd spent a little more $ and get a low noise bathroom fan. They can be found cheap and are quiet, reliable, and handle back pressure much better.

Dude - that home depot fan may work. I don't know how much noise they make though yet - if thats a concern of yours. I'm working on stealth for my NGB style stealth cab. However, if you have a carbon scrubber/filter I would pass on it. They offer a 6"er that does like 3 times those CFM's for not much more and in the ducting aisle you can get an adapter for 6" -> 4" if need be. I'm considering that 6" myself, but I'm not 100% sure yet. I have a small carbon scrubber I just built the other day and no fan to test it with yet - If you can wait a few days until I get this depot gift card im planning on buying that 6" fan with, i'll let you know how it rocks - if it does.
If not, I think i'll just fork out the loot for a vortex and do it right

a carbon scrubber is filter made with active carbon that "scrubs" the air passing through it. basically it traps the odor molecules from escaping so stinky air goes in and clean air comes out.
