Hey guys I'm in need of some help.

Currently have 7 plants vegging in my tent and not to far away from flowering them off but also sharing the tent are some young plants i sporouted from seed.

Basicly been checking young plants daily as the first 1 showed pistils about 4 days ago but seems i wasnt checking close enough. When checking yesterday noticed what i thought was a couple of small fan leaves that looked to be yellowing but upon closer inspection these were 2 male pre flowers and they had fully opened and dropped pollen.

Now question is are my 7 female vegging plants in danger of turning out seeded or does the pollen have to come into contact with buds that are forming?

Dont know squat about making seeds or breeding but have never seen a young plant grow and drop pollen so quickly and for the male pollen sacks to grow at the bottom branches only.

Hopefully someone will post with real knowledge on the subject.
From what ive read (which isnt really much, lol), you need pistils/buds to come in contact with pollen to make seeds.

If its in a veg room id prolly just grab two wet sponges and give them a clean every few days (leafs, stems, etc). That should help pick up and rid any pollen hanging around. Also give the tent/room a nice wipe down.

Thats strange hearing of such a small plant shedding pollen. (strange for me, but im a newb at growing) Im wondering would it be viable pollen if the plant was so young?

It needs a spec of pollen to come in contact with the stigma "pistils" to create a seed. That is hella quick for even a pre flower to form let alone dropping pollen blinking hell.

As they're in early flower I would spray the plants n room with water.. Water kills pollen dead lol so that's a preventive for more damage.. I'm not sure but maybe the pollen will b unsterile as its so immature but I don't know.. Any pics mate?

Hey TT great to hear from you bro.

You know i always had it in the back of my mind them seeds i used from grows I'd done prior come back and bite me on the arse but wasnt expecting that to happen.

Like you say hope someone more knowledgeable puts me out of my misery.

Also forgot to add some of pistils have gone a tan colour but not too many.

Sorry big narstie no pics mate and thanks for the advice.

Already had them all out yesterday and washed them all down along with tent and danish tray.

All the sweet tooth/lui and cdd plants i binned them and just kept my la confidential and 2 purple wreks.

It's a lil bit worse than hurting it painfully.


It's makes it non viable is the technical term I think.

you've got seed if the pistils turned brownish right away...that's an indication of pollination.

how'd this happen then? if they're in veg?

Hey fella thanks for your input.

Years ago i done a grow of sweet tooth #3,lui and some donk and after harvest found about 20 or so seeds from a sweet tooth plant if memory serves me right and about 3 years ago found around 20 seeds again from a rez dog chem dog diesel.

So recently decided to pop them to see what would become of them and there maybe 6 weeks old and they were just sharing the tent until my 7 green cracks were ready to be flowered off.

The rest you akready know.
