If you are growing indoors, power bills are important.

I think Idaho has less expensive electricity. Not Cannabis friendly (officially).

The best state and county for growing, from an economic standpoint, is the one you live in now...

Just be smart and stay safe...

WIth the playing field constantly changing these days, it's challenging to make the exact right choice. Maybe look 2-3 years into the future, and deduce what states may enact changes allowing us to live our chosen lifestyle. And thrive economically, with the least fear of legal probs

Its fairly cheap if you can go w raw unimproved land in a mtn area that has year round access. Acerage typically gets cheaper as it increases.

Hope you get your situation figured out.

Oh yeah...
If you require legal... Colorado is the most solid for personal... Look up what countys allow what for county specific advice but no county can ban personal for any reason.
If you don't care about legal status... The choice of state is yours.
co is too cold for me. preferably want to get a place with plumbing and electricity. have people trying to help build stuff but they do sub par work and use building for an excuse to drink beer everyday mostly and are pretty much the reason i don't have a spot right now so im avoiding them. 1/2 acre is about all the space i need gardenwise. mainly just don't want neighbors within my line of sight or to be able to see them drive past everyday.

too hot outside of redding. not enough opened minded people for it to be worth living there.

The cali and CO growers have messed up prices all the way to the east coast, I think the last bastion of good money is going to be in the south , maybe look at which group of bible thumpers is least likely to lock you up forever.

getting money into California is hard. other states let you drive through. Even though they let you go through into ca without really checking most all of the time there is still the chance that they might check which sux and causes panic.

I agree on the legalization- pretty sure its decrim and medical in all NE states and Maine has towns in it that have legalized it municipally. I digress from you on the other points, in the bigger cities good stuff is mid 2's per unit now so I wouldn't consider that enough of a margin to move across country for, and the outdoor growing climate is prob the worst in the country (cold and wet with short seasons, that's why hops growers abandoned the region decades ago to move out west).
