I would like to hear from someone with good info - this has me rattled.
I have been disabled for 9yrs very painfully and unconfortable and its not going to stop. I live in a non mmj state.
An old friend moved away year ago and HE decided to send me some smoke without my knowledge as a favor and surprise. I did not have any idea until I got a nasty letter from postal insp. Telling me of cononf. And can call etc. Copy of envelope return address name HELLO then his real addy!
So I tell the guy on the phone don't EVER send it I couldn't survive in jail. He tells me oops already sent another box! Addressed the same. H. e used my real name changed a little.
He put tracking and insurance on it I found out later. The box was rejected at our post office as not deliverable as addressed or something like that. I have no idea what is going on - its been a few days since I found out so here I sit with my wife worried sick over this we didn't even want to do or even know about.
I know he had good intentions but I already accept I wont be able to get smoke anymore ane this just makes it worse.
If the box gets caught now will I be in trouble? It is being returned or something. I don't even know how much is in it- an oz or less I'm guessing.
What a rude awakening.

u could get in serious trouble from mailing or receiving narcotics... in the past people have received packages of anthrax etc and threats in the mail, but they do not get charged........

i would think your case would would be tried in a similar manner.... but only if you didn't know about the distribution prior to the sending of it to your postal address...id be a lil worried if u had contact with this individual...
i would get a attorney or a lawyer..... tell them what happened..... get a statement.... verbal written signed etc by the man who sent it saying you had nothing to do with it or had any intent to distribute. contact your attorney first or lawyer if you decide to do something like this.. as u say you had no idea he was sending it to you.

so i would think, your okay.
id worry more about the person who sent it... that's distribution. big charge. good luck

Not sure if you have anything in your house incriminating.. But its not your fault what some fool decided to mail you.. Deny knowledge, and end the conversation if the cops try speaking with you.. They may even tell you if they arrest you that your wife admitted to it. And then tell her you blamed her. Common tactic. Never admit anything and tell them u want a lawyer. If it comes to that. Get a lawyer on retainer (its really not that expensive). Do not admit to anything, ever. Tell your "old friend" to do the same or get bent. Clean out the house. Don't be nervous.

I absolutely hate reading about shit like this because I am in a very similar situation, disabled. I just haven't been fingered yet. Sounds like you have been.

And through absolutely no fault of your own either. You have done nothing wrong. What that means to me is that anyone can screw up anyone else's life up, totally legally and very easily, through this system our illustrious leaders have set up for us.

The fact is if you get convicted of a felony they can take away your SS disability. Many people rely on that just to survive. Having that threat hanging over you all the time is totally fucked up.

And the pigs CAN and do lie too. THAT is fucked up. Just who do these fucking feds think they are when supporting this failed "War on Drugs" by doing shit like this to the weakest links in the system? Bastards.

I know I have been flagged too. They watch every piece of mail coming here like I'm some ISIS terrorist or something. That's totally fucked.

The fucking usps even x-rays shit now. But then there is a big push to get meds by mail? But couldn't x-rays alter the chemicals? YES! So why would anyone want their meds mailed? The whole thing is fucked.

Fuck the police. Now the fucking mailman is a pig too. Great. Assholes! We have definitely regressed as a society if shit like this is now the norm, and it is.

But As long as u do not under any circumstances accept a package from this "friend" then you are not at fault for whatever contraband was mailed to your home... U have to accept the package for them to prosecute u.. So don't accept nada

I know it's not very nice but i would tell my friend he was a retard for putting you in this situation, and if it comes to the point of you going to jail for it you will have to blame him instead.

He was the idiot who sent it without you asking for anything, he should be the one to pay whatever penalty.

I think it could be misunderstood what I wrote. I didn't mean that the usps workers are assholes. Not at all, they are by a vast majority very hard working, good people. I meant the assholes are the political leaders who set this stupid, crazy, system up that have made these workers into some kind of LEO. They are the assholes. The ones who have made the OP into some kind of criminal.

The usps has their own law enforcement division.. Postal inspectors I believe they are called... They mostly suck at their jobs... Since while they caught these two packages to the op hundreds of lbs went right thru no problem.
