White reflective background V silver reflective background
I was just about to purchase a 2nd tent then came upon a debate arguing the toss between silver or white backgrounds and which was the better.
Thoughts please? Cheers in advance

I have always used silver Diamond mylar in my rooms but as long as its reflective then it does not matter, I believe that Panda film which is white is meant to be the most reflective material for rooms and can "supposedly" achieve higher yield. I have voted silver but really should have voted no difference lol.

I think the most important thing is to keep it clean whichever you use.. neither is especially reflective when dirty

47 views but only 4 votes so far, 50/50 at the moment, cheers to the lads that have voted already. I will keep the vote going for a bit before I decide but so far it is looking like option 3 for me

In my Current Resisence and original Growroomi Originally got diamond reflective sheet cuz that was the Best. Now I'm back to white paint.(flat)
Still good. Don't know WHY there are SO against Foil (or were) ...?? Gotta be an R.R.P/Selling thing cuz Too mirror/reflect the light is "kinda " what's going on here!! ( I always thought) at start....anyhow ![]() Last edited by birdman_; 09-10-2015 at 06:31 PM.. |

i am new to growing and just took several clones...designed a light/dark box and simply lined it with good freezer paper, which is white and glossy on one side...using 5w LED grow lights (2), so heat is not an issue...working like a charm...personally, for clones, i think that softer reflective glow is probably gentler, not as harsh on them

My tents have silver lining and my flower room has Orca. I'm just about to purchase a larger tent and will be getting the Orca lined secret jardin for a try out
Not sure it will make a noticeable difference.Like JS said, either way it needs to be clean!

I use tents so go with the silver linings of the secret jardin but have to say i much preferred the white lining i had my first couple of bud box tents i had back in the day.
If i wasnt using tents my first option would be flat white paint. If it gets dirty just paint it again or touch it up. If you choose mylar then you have to put it up flat with no creases for optimum performance. If you use a regular foliar spray in you're regime then over spray is gonna loose you some performance. Mylar has to be clean and crease free to get the best out of it. Orca is ment to be the muts nuts but comes with a premium price to match. Peace |
