But what is worse for the kid, getting his hands on cannabis or ruining his life with a felony conviction. Here I think the penalty does not fit the crime, maybe probation till he/she turns 21 that should deter them from using it again. But a felony conviction will be devastating and life changing especially at such a young age!!! Just my opinion. Shag

absolutely right, Shaggy. the penalty does NOT fit the crime, and it never has. want to piss off a teenager? give him a restricted drivers license, good only for going to work/school & back home again. i aint saying they will quit smoking, but it is a good bet that you won't catch them riding around burning one again...

OK, yes it will still be illegal to have pot if you are under 21 in MPP's version. But it will be a 300 dollar fine.

I hear ya, I just live in a place way out in the Kozmos where things were done right the first time. If pot wasn't made to be so scary(refer madness) a long time ago it wouldn't be an issue. It would be around and not abused(or abused by few) just like glue, over the counter meds, or some other easily accessible substance. I may also have a one tract mind and am willing for kids to go "mad" about the availability of it so the generations behind them can see the negative issues it could bring into there lives. You can learn a lot from a dummy. My post was more of an outburst than anything just because all I see around us is greed. Which is a shity example for our youth. Hope I didn't cloud up the thread or take it off track. Much respect and thank you for taking the time to contribute to our community. Much respect Kozmo |

Well, I'd love to see the Safer/azfmr bill passed, but so far they have about 6000 sigs.
MPP has over 75000, I can't see the one getting on the ballot. MPP's will get on the ballot. So if azfmr's gets on the ballot it will split the vote and we will have nothign. The 'movement' could lose the national momentum we've gained. And for sure AZ will be screwed for many years. MPP's bill lets people grow. Retail stores will sell clones... And even though getting a retail license is unlikely, getting a license for a Cultivator, a Distributor, or a Product Manufacturer should be no problem. I will be opening my own Cultivation Establishment if this passes. There are so many plusses to MPP's bill. As opposed to the nothing we will get from the other 'better' bill.

Studying this more closely, I realize that the only ones who reconciled were safer and azfmr, which kinda splintered off mpp's bill. There are real differences that would be better if safer's version passed, but HOME GROWING was the big thing that we wanted to make sure we had.
Well, mpp's has that. Only 6 plants, 12 max in a household, but in a legal environment, you don't have to keep a bunch of strains at home, just buy them 6 at a time from all the retail stores that will be selling clones. Stores will be selling whole grow room setups... 12,500 gets a app fee and license if approved for the lowest tier of cultivator license. Of course if you want to do errl or edibles you have to get a product manufacturer license. app fee 5000, license fee 15000.... anyway. back to the safer against mpp feud. The guy from azfmr/safer is gearing up to oppose the MPP bill if the safer bill does not get on the ballot. And it won't. So this guy from azfmr has written a DECRIM bill that he wants to push if he succeeds in killing legalization through MPP's initiative. So he has a selfish reason, he wants his own thing passed. He does not care at all if we lose our chance at legalization for who knows how long. Plain and simple, if we lose this 2016 election for legalization, it will be a MANDATE from 'THE PEOPLE' that we want nothing to do with MJ.

MPP came out in the 11th hr. and was not willing to allow home grow. A big fuss insued led by Safer. They soon realized we are serious about our grow rights. If we didn't throw a fit where would we be now? Sorry, just on that alone I don't trust them. Ohio also seems to have bent to big money getting the bone. Who is leading that? MPP I think.
Why not let it run it's course, see who gains the ballot. We still have till next year. So why run down azfmr? |
