I-95 - Searching for the fire - Update 8/30 - Flower Day 1

I should have started this log long ago. I have put it off for long enough so here we go. On the bright side nothing exciting has been missed yet as the lady just started flowering the show is just getting started.





First off big thanks to my buddy that provided me with 2 of these gems you know who you are. These seeds were acquired at the 2015 Denver HTCC, I luckily scored a pack of the Guava13 as well that will be started in the very near future. Shout out and thank you to $M, JJ and the whole Top Dawg crew. Was awesome getting to meet you guys, your hospitality and generosity wont be forgotten, stand up crew all around.

I germinated both of the seeds shortly after the cup, couldn't wait to get these babies going. Both of them were sprouted above ground on 5/15. Around a week later I screwed up, lost power to my intake/exhaust fans and nearly killed all of my 21 started seedlings. Temps got up to 99F for nearly 8 hours raining hell on all my babies. When all was said and done 9 of the initial 21 seedlings survived, sadly the I-95 #2 was one of the casualties.





Only the strong survive right? I feel a little better looking at my screw up as a stress test to root out the weaklings. One thing is certain, the survivors have all been very impressive specimens, structure, vigor, smells, they are some monsters. Of the 9 plants, 7 were ladies of those, 2 plants really have stood out among the standouts. The I-95 #1 being one of them, she is a beast of a plant, in veg at least she has the whole package and her stank is something else.

It has been a long and rough summer and the flowering of this girl has been put off because of that. Things are looking up and moving along, better late than never.

The basics with the grow... She is being grown in a soil mix, 1 part FFOF 1 part FFCL, 1/2 part Perlite, 1/3 part EWC, with some added amendments. Feeding with Bio-Canna grow, bloom, rhizo, boost and OG Biowar. I do use aspirin in my water and sometimes will add molasses to the mix. She was transplanted from a 3 gal to a 5 gal pot a week before going into bloom.

No special training methods or topping have been used as to observe her natural growth structure. The only things done to her was defoliating large fan leaves to help promote her branching. This girl has exploded into a massive bush with a fairly even canopy. She has fairly thin stem and branches that will be staked and tied up for support very soon. A few clones were already taken and are trucking along, they will be flowered after a few more weeks of veg.

Just in love with this girl, up to this point she has been a very impressive specimen. Her bushy structure and massive sized fan leaves really make her standout among others. Smells on her is and has been very loud, the carbon filters will be working overtime to keep up in bloom. She smells like a straight skunk with nothing else unless you bump into her or rub a stem. Brushing against her will release a more complex stink than just skunk with piney, kushy, burnt tire, fuel funk undertones all in the mix.

@nickman - Thanks bro I really appreciate the kind words. The aspirin is used for the salicylic acid which helps ward off disease, pests and keeps the plant healthy. The great thing for me is that it lowers the PH in my water to right about 6.5 so I never need to adjust PH.

I use it regularly, I put one pill in every gallon of water for my plants. I use it on seedlings, cuttings to flowering plants, through the whole life cycle. I find it also to be a good thing to add for preventative measures its simple and cheap. I even use it in my foliar regimens with great success. I guess you can overdue it so dont use too much. I use 1 325mg uncoated aspirin per gallon of water, they dissolve really well in any water but especially warm water. Make sure you get uncoated aspirin you dont want a different drug and you really want to make sure they aren't coated.

Update 9/28 - Flower Day 28


I have been slacking really bad with this log and keeping things updated. Hoping there are no more issues and I can keep regular updates posted with the progress of this beast of a lady. She has been a little slow to really get going and set in flower but things are really starting to take off now. Her stretch really seems to have come to a stop I would say she came close to tripling in size over the past 4 weeks. I have placed stakes in her pot and put up some string to support her and keep her upright. Spent a good chunk of time this weekend getting her lowers cleaned up and removing some fan leaves.

Just love the structure on this girl, she is one beastly flat topped bush. I never topped her, just removed fan leaves to promote her branching, this is how she wanted to grow. I was expecting one of her tops to really take over and become dominate but it just hasn't happened. She spent most of the first 4 weeks in flower stretching and really getting her bud sites ready for flower. The past week the frost on her has really just taken off and hairs are starting to explode everywhere on her. I expect the next few weeks for her to really start taking shape and showing what she is all about.

I have been battling a cold the past couple of weeks and has been really hard to get accurate smells from my ladies. This girl really appears to have a nice skunky smell from all that I can tell. Im sure there is more to it and I know its going to really change and develop in coming weeks so I will provide better descriptions soon. Really pleased and impressed with this girl and the potential in this line. I do have a few clones of her that are vegging away right now and plan to flower out very soon.
