You are not coming across as a know it all bro..PH is very important and we will definitely add a section devoted to nothing but PH..
I just feel that your PH is a little on the low side for soil..More Hydro-like..Let's let some others put some input on PH and we can design a section around the info gathered..
Thanks and take care.......................... .....CC
I've never had a problem with using Pro-mix and high PH but that could be due to the water in my area..Flora-Nova is now being used by several people here with the same results I get,,no PH adjustment..The stuff is amazing for buffering nutrient solution..

Excellent Post Capt Crip. My 1st question has to do with your recommended lighting cycle for plants in veg. Have you notice a growth difference going 24/0 vs 18/6? I'm currently building a small grow space 4'X7' and will be using a 600w lumatec with aircooled hood. Installing two air conditioning vents (using existing home A/C) at ground level. Installing carbon filter (vent into attic). I had serious odor problems with my old closet grow and want to know if smell with come through home A/C ducts? If so, recommendations? Again, very good info. Thanks.

I like the 24 hour light cycle because you have no wasted time..Plants do stretch during the dark period but I don't think they actually grow..Theres really no reason to use any dark time as it is a waste of growth time. You can "usually" keep a plant from auto-flowering under 24 hours of light...And when you go to 12/12 they definitely know it's time to flower.....

Venting your grow space to the attic is a good idea and running it through a carbon filter on the way is an excellent idea...The only problem you are going to encounter is moisture...Be sure to place your exhaust near one of the eve vents to be sure and let the moisture escape your attic as it can cause heavy mold if not dealt with properly...

Could any of the Sunshine mixes be substituted for the Promix by chance? One of the local shops has one and not the other oddly enough. And if so which of the mixes would you recommend?

Thx--

pro-mix or sunshine

Hey Presto..
Both of the mixes contain the basic ingredients and both work very well for growing cannibis...Go with the sunshine if thats whats availible and try to add a little organics to the mix..Worm Castings are excellent and do not burn plants..Extra perlite is always a plus(just make sure to wet it as the dust is bad for you..)
Good luck.........................C C

I think the growing length of day should be 18 hours rather than 24 hours with hid. I know that with my plants after maybe 18 on, they begin to wilt slightly. This may be that they have received enough light for day (have become saturated) and need the dark period. I would state "After 18 hours of light, plants may begin to wilt slightly and that would let you know they have had enough light for day". Just a thought.

Maistre,,,good to see you also!!How have things been going?

Leaddraft,Hey man hows it going for ya...?
Outside you do not have to spend as much to help the soil..The bags you bought should certainly help ammend the soil and help it retain water for the plants..It's just so sandy here as you know..
Show your updated pics when you have time...They looked to be kicking ass in the last pics you posted..
