An indoor grow tent outside/inside so to speak
Ok so I am nearing my first exploits into growing first time in 15-20 years, learnt quite a few things thanks to mr microsoft since I last dabbled.
I used to do purely outdoor, set away in spring done by bonfire night purely for my own and a few family members/friends tokes. This time it is personal, need family meds and any bonus is a boost so to speak, carers allowance does not keep me up to date with the economy, if that makes sense. I am about done with my first forage back, lost a bit due to bud rot but nothing drastic, should be harvesting soon and I expect a min 3 oz per pp x 8 so all good and well. so far. Only fault I have had is humidity control late in growth, I am growing outdoors but inside an outdoor building, so I have to take into account the surrounding atmosphere for the climate readings, bit of a twat during the summer. I am already thinking of my next batch and understand that I need to sort out my airflow and be sure that I can keep my heat levels right throughout. I have heaters in place with digi controlled timers to kick in etc. Hopefully I can get the intake of fresh air in sorted, and this is my main query. Intake, I know I can regulate whatever power source I use but, what power source should I use? b n q shower extraction set ups or is there something else I should be looking at in particular? To draw that flow in . I also need to work out a suitable set up that I can leave to do its own watering for a couple of weeks due to respite and holidays etc I am all ears, well not quite, I have a canny size belly anarl

Hmmm.. so a greenhouse?
Bathroom fans draw very little air, I'd be looking elsewhere unless this is a very small grow area. Shutter fans can be pricey (re: relative to the grow investment) but are the bees knees and can be controlled by temp or humidity. If you haven't got anything lying around and are handy, floor fans work wonders with a plywood housing built around them. If you're only going to use one fan, an out take on the opposite side of a passive intake, as high as you can place it, would be preferable. Drip house, drip emitters or Blumats for a nanny system. Much more reliable than "helpful" friends. |

Inside a wooden structure, which is where the humidity problem lies I believe. Up til now, that has been the only source of intake from within the structure to the tent. I have now installed a vent to outside and attached ducting into the bottom part of the tent. Extraction is set at the highest possible position.
Hopefully this will help lower the humidity levels to a more acceptable level. |
