Highland Oxaca Male

It was time to take the 3 males I ended up with and document them before proceeding with pollen collection and selection. These specimens, opposed to other varieties I am currently working with, are pretty uniform which speaks to their inherent inbred stability.. The only discernible characteristic so far has been how one of them is flowering at a slightly slower pace.Aroma, height and structure seems pretty uniform. I had topped the plants early on so that I could lst them in case they were females their height could be controlled, I regret doing so because you can't see the true structure. Here are some pics I took, some have an artistic flair to the as I was feeling really creative and started messing around with my camera phone, hope you enjoy!

Looking really nice! I'll definitely be following your progress. Some F2's to the Bay would be really fantastic

Peace,
KF

Stability doesn't necessarily mean inbred. But good luck with your project, I've been watching any and all threads involving this line.

In the case of landraces it is the inbreeding that brings out stability, specially when the inbreeding has gone for so many generations. In the case of hybrids its called backcrossing.

tropicana, nice males! They should make good children. I haven't grown a large number of Highland Mexican plants, but I wasn't able to identify dominate genetics such as Highland Oaxacan verse Highland Guerrero. The Guerrero is Guerrero Green. Since the Guerrero was the mother I assume that the high is Guerrero dominate.

The aromas and effect from Highland Mexican is spot on with DJ Shorts descriptions of Guerrero Green in his "Strains of Yesteryear" article. Highland Oaxacan Gold and Acapulco Gold were two of my favorite highs from the early 1970's. Highland Oaxcan Gold was clearer and cleaner than Acapulco (Guerrero) Gold.

I highly recommend Chimera's Highland Mexican, maybe next project I'll look thru the various Highland Mexican pheno-types.

Chimera's Highland Mexican is:

1973 Highland Guerrero x Blueberry

Blueberry is:
[(Highland Oaxacan Gold / Chocolate Thai x Afganistan) x (Highland "Juicy Fruit" Thai x Afghanistan)

My understanding is the Highland Guerrero was, or was close to an IBL (landrace) You should be able to tell the difference in growth of an IBL like a Guerrero verse a poly- sativa/indica hybrid like Blueberry.

Here are photos of the Highland Mexican male I used.
