Jack Herer auto's growing questions…
3×3×5 tent grow with adjustable 442w LED light/CFL's on side corners. Plenty of fans and exhaust
My question… Should I plant them in a mixture of fox farm veg and flower soil or just flower base soil? How to properly water/fertilize using general organics go box nutrients? What should I do about pruning? This is not my first grow, just my first auto grow. I would love to hear different ideas. Thank y'all kindly Come on Texas 2017!!! |

You defeat the purpose of "pruning" for autos. There's a LOT of material here on growing auto flowers...read on, or Google.
Adding perlite to Fox Farm will be helpful.

Treat them like any other plants is my advice, seems to be a lot of nonsense about autos. Decent autos grow themselves, keep feed low dont over do it, nice environment and they happy. Just keep them happy and they will yield for you

as autos are on a clock and time is short for them avoid potting up, plant the seed direct into the final pot, not nearly as much nutes is required, and yes you can FIM autos on the second or third lateral, for a gain of 15-25% of yield, and a volume of perlite(25%) is always a good thing with these tiny roots too ...good luck |

Experience has shown to not pinch/prune. Try it and see.
Some have been accidentally FIM'ed due to dropping, moving containers around indoors or outdoors, etc. Didn't see added yield.

That's the beauty of autos...auto pilot as long as you don't over water, over fertilize. Good luck!

Uthenger is currently growing one auto Jock Horror in a small horizontal space (WxD 40x50 cm / ~16x20 inches), the hight is enough. There is one MH and one HPS lamp with separate reflectors, 70W each, under 18on/6off. The medium is soil. She was very weak as a seedling for about 3 weeks, then started growing and entered flowering about 1st of July, three weeks later than her sister (JH1) that was outdoor and she's now curing in a jar after 7 weeks of flowering.
The indoor Jock Horror auto, who was popped the same day with the outdoor one now after almost 6 weeks of flowering looking like she can go another 3 weeks. She had difficulties from too much water (too big seedling pot that could not dry out !), was also abused by ruth LST-ing, then on week 2 of flowering she was left in a too small container that could not resisit for 4 days at 33 degree celsius without watering, she had a shock, lost many leaves plus then she was pruned at the bottom from suckers and trained for a flat corona. So uthenger thinks that is unproven growers myth that you need to treat differently the autos from regulars, also is a myth that you better start in the final container because any transplant (and then fresh soil for the roots) is stressful, is a myth that there is a calendaristicaly ticking clock (also he agrees that there she has an internal biological clock, but that is not ticking like your watch, somtimes fastens, sometimes almost stops her time if she stressed and needs to heal, then she prolongs her vegetative growth period). Also if interested I can upload some pictures about her as for today. Also you can check JH1 outdoor as she finished on my current grow, see signature.

Some autos are more resilient than others. "Myth" all you like.....numerous grows you'll understand the nuances of autos compared to her photoperiod sisters. Premise is much the same, but there are differences.
