Sour Amnesia Grow
I got 2 females from just a 5 pack. They are slightly different to me, but then I look at their loveliness every day! They are growing in organic, living soil and the resin production is excellent! They both have the most intoxicating aroma of sweet limes and loved to stretch once I put them into 11/13 flower cycle.
Here's a couple quick phone pics at day 36: |

Hey Ace, thanks for the kind words. I've enjoyed growing this strain! I find it's easy to grow and has such great aromas and resin production, can't wait to sample some herb and hash from these ladies.
Yes I mulch the top of the 20 gallon fabric pots and also seed in a nitrogen fixing plant as a cover crop. This time I used a mix of 3 different clovers, white dutch clover, crimson clover and red clover. Also I add red wigglers and euro composting worms to the pots. I have two plants here, under a single 600 watt HPS cool tube. I'm fighting some high summer temps now but the plants look pretty happy to me. The flowers are really starting to swell and add some weight, pulling down the branches, so I've got many of them tied up. I'm looking at two fairly distinct phenotypes. One has a bit more airy buds, more space between calyxes and longer pistils, also stretched quite a bit more when I began the flower cycle. The other pheno has rock hard buds, a bit more compact, a bit shorter pistils. In the photos it's the top bud with more orange colored pistils. I think she is going to finish a bit before the other. Here are a few shots at 47 days: Phenotype with more compact buds Large top bud on left shows more airy, open bud structure. Large top on the left shows tighter bud structure that looks to be maturing slightly faster |

Second pic should read.... "Large top bud on left shows more airy, open bud structure. Large top on the RIGHT shows tighter bud structure that looks to be maturing slightly faster"
You get the idea...

Nice work. Looks like you have a good handle on them.
I am sure you will enjoy these as they are really under-appreciated imo.

Thanks trich! I'll take another round of pics about a week before harvest and then try to get some harvest shots and dried herb pics put up as well.
Without sampling the finished product, I have to say, this is a very nice plant! I'm unsure which phenotype I will keep at this point, the smells are very close, with the one being a tad bit more Sour D to me, thats the one with shorter pistils and a bit more compact bud structure that looks to be finishing up a little bit faster. Both of these plants are just coated with frost already and have some time to ripen up yet for sure. I'm betting the ice hash from the trim is going to be killer, many of the larger fan leaves are even coated with resin! I'll also say, I've kept the two mother plants of these phenos in small pots for quite a while and they are easy keepers. Nice strain and thanks to Hortilab for the solid genetics! Maybe they'll send me some pollen from a nice Sour A male!?!? Or some from the ECSD v3 male and I can back cross her.... Cannabis stud service!? Corner the market!?

Hey Angel, thanks!
I'm not familiar with the Holland Amnesia, but have enjoyed the Sour Diesel quite a few times and was actually looking for a plant that reminded me more of the Sour D, so probably looking for a pheno at the other end of the spectrum from you originally... BUT, I like this one that seems to lean more toward the Amnesia! I think it will yield a bit more than the Sour D leaning pheno and it has such a great sweet lime aroma to it, with SUPER resin production.... I'm just happy I have two distinct females to choose from in just a 5 pack of seeds! For me, the affect will be the number one criteria, followed by flavor/aroma. I'm going to take pics at exactly 9 weeks and post them, that's in just a couple days, thanks for the interest! This seems to be a killer strain! I think it might stay in my stable for a while...

Here we have the ladies at 63 days. I'm thinking maybe another 2 weeks, but lets not be anxious, there's plenty of flower in the jar...
Although I'm looking forward to sampling them more each day... One thing I forgot to mention, if the photos don't make it obvious, is how very easy this strain will be to trim! Hardly any leaf on those buds, just stacked up calyxes, covered in resin and the aroma of these oils is intoxicating. Seriously, get yourself a pack of these... This is the 2nd cycle on these no-till pots, tomorrow the ladies will get a sprouted seed tea, their favorite, makes them pray to the light... without further delay... The one that I think must lean toward the Amnesia side of things: Another shot of her magnificent top: Some lower flower on her, great resin production: Here is the terminal bud on what appears to be the more Sour D leaning pheno: And here is a tent shot to give you some idea on production... I would say a heavy producer, both of them, with the plant on the left appearing as if it might end up producing a tiny bit more, that would be the Amnesia leaning pheno: Did I mention, I'm loving this plant!? Thanks for taking a look, keep it green... |
