I'm currently halfway through Tago Mago, one of my favorites. Shit gets weird after Halleluhwah..

Blasting this through my entry-level Rega player from the 90's, had it for 6 years already and no problems at all, awesome quality.

I'll go smoke some more and find something more soothing, let's see what I find.. I suggest you do the same and post your records here!

Crosby Stills and Nash are awesome, one of my friends is a huge fan and always playing their records, sadly I have none yet. How's your setup algreenery? Do you ever find yourself going the easy route listening to records that you own from youtube/spotify/bandcamp etc? I used to, but ever since I got my new Dynaudio speakers the records just sound so much better I always choose vinyl if I can.

Goddamn this Om record is great, you need to be in a certain mood to tolerate all the repetition but once you get there.. humming along the monotonic vocals gets me even higher :D

C,S,N are really great, this is one of my absolute favorite albums no doubt! You should have this record in the collection :)!

My setup is very simple and old.. It is a simple Music system with cassette and a vinyl player and it sounds horrible on new records but the old records gets a sound that i like from the old nail :biggrin:.

Yes you are right, i found myself listening to the same records on Youtube but as soon as i get some more money to play with im gonna upgrade my vinyl player and speakers.

What model is your Dynaudio speakers? I need to start planning on my Audio system.

Im gonna give that Om record a chance i love discovering (new) music.

I tried finding Talking Heads - Fear of Music but I must have misplaced or loaned it to someone :smoker: Well I found a perfect substitute, easily one of my top5 "new" records, very strange haunted 80's synth-pop, highly recommended! :)

Edit. Algreenery I bought used Dynaudio Excite x14, got an awesome deal. Now my weak point is my old Cambridge amp and my mediocre Pro-Ject RIAA-box. This stuff is never ending, so I just focus on buying records :) But still getting even an entry level hifi setup will make you listen to music 10 times more, at least it did for me!

edit2. Om is an acquired taste, their first 2 records (the best IMO) are just Bass, drums and vocals and heavy 10+ minute repetitive stoner chants :D If you need something new I suggest trying that John Maus record!

Looks like you got a real good sound system!! Ive got a pair of okey headphones that goes well with my system but i want to listen and dance with my soulmate so i really need to get a pair of speakers asap!

Hell yeah, 36 Chambers is one of the greats, need to give that a spin later! As a north-European white-as-they-come dude I can't really relate to much of hip hop, but I still have some records in my shelf. One of my favorites is Madvillainy, I love Mf Doom since his rhymes are more about wordplay and comedy than about selling crack or machine guns haha :D One underrated USA hiphop group I love is Cyne, sadly all I have from them on vinyl is Evolution Fight. Check them out if you're not aware! :)

Madvillainy is a great record and everything with MF DOOM is golden!! Love Madlib and MUCH more. Cyne is a underrated group for sure! I too live in northern Europe:tiphat:

Got to 2nd the love of Doom, especially on vinyl. Am a big fan of the DangerDoom album he made with Dangermouse on Adultswim. The 2nd Run the Jewels album is also pretty raucous and highly recommended. Also like the Third Man records Jack White puts out, they're all high quality and most have a hidden song or some gimmick, my favorite is the Deadweather's "Sea of Cowards".

DangerDoom rocks except the "funny" speech samples, stellar beats and Doom always delivers. Sadly I don't have this on vinyl yet.

Today is another gorgeous northern summer day; cold and rain. So as a reasonably intelligent person I'm going to smoke weed and listen to vinyl all day today too. Must have listened to 10 records yesterday.

I've loved Amon Tobin for years now, strangely his stuff doesn't get old at all, Slowly and Natureland sound just as magical now as they did the first time :)

I just switched to Hexvessel - Dawnbearer. My local record store guy recommended it and I'm glad I picked it up, mystical acoustic occult something :)

Some more stoned thoughts on Amon Tobin, I love jazz and have great respect for the drummers especially and I've never heard a producer "get" jazz like Amon Tobin gets it. Like the song Bridge from Permutation, masterful grooves and complete control. I've yet to find anything as impressive as him, but a norwegian duo(?) called Xploding Plastix came close with their Amateur Girlfriends Go Proskirt Agents, which I'll probably play next since I haven't heard it in a while.

Awesome drums but I'm guessing they use a live drummer to get the samples, unlike Amon who goes deep into the swing era to dig up his grooves :)

edit. Although I listen to a lot of weird records I have nothing against "mainstream" music, I'll check that one out once I'm through spinning :) Thanks for sharing!
