New Outdoor variety,considerations...
I would like to make some seeds for my own use which grow well at my latitude.I have been wondering whether it would be better to try to improve the chances of an existing female plant (which had been grown indoors throughout it's existence, and when attempted outdoors suffered with mould or didn't finish) by selecting a male from proven outdoor stock,or to pollinate a stellar female from proven outdoor stock with a male from an 'indoor' variety.
I understand in both cases one would need to keep both parents alive for back or filial crossing to stabilise target traits but I just wondered where a 'professional' would start the process. |

In my experience, there's no such thing as "indoor" cannabis since every variety I've tried growing seems to do just fine OD as well.
Interesting topic & here's my non pro opinion... Find the female you like above all others and start with her as your foundation. If you can find a male of the same make F2s and search through them until you find a male that exhibits the traits you like & hit mom w him to make a back cross. Then do whatever you want from there. Going through seed you've made yourself is tons of fun. I find it almost as addictive as growing. Good luck with whatever you decide. |

I've got 3/4 clones of plants which came from homemade crosses, and now I have been busted for the 3rd time at this address I have finally accepted I cannot grow here again.Until I can move I want to continue to work with these plants as I know they're special,so it seems like trying to improve their viability outdoors is the best project I can get involved in.
